The key to setting weight loss goals is to follow the standard of goal setting, which means it needs to be SMART. A SMART goal stands for the following characteristics:

• Specific: Be clear about your intention by putting some numbers and details into your goal.

• Measurable: How will you keep track of your progress? Will you measure body weight, waist circumference, or exercise performance?

• Attainable: Do you have the time, resources, and motivation to reach your goal?

• Realistic: It's OK to set an ambitious goal as long as it's possible and within reach.

• Time-bound: Set a deadline for your goal. Break it up into shorter-term milestones to stay on track for the long haul.

It's important to note that sustainable weight loss takes time and there's no quick magic to attain sustainable weight loss.

Hello my wonderful people! I never thought I would become so passionate about helping others improve their nutrition and lifestyle. It all started when I found myself gradually gaining weight due to a combination of poor food choices, lack of portion control, and neglecting my own well-being while juggling numerous responsibilities.

One day, it hit me—my children were constantly commenting on my weight, and even a colleague asked if I was expecting. Enough was enough, and my journey to change began. In my quest for answers, I stumbled upon countless online quick fixes that promised the world but delivered nothing. From Acai berry to lemon-ginger concoctions, the information overload was overwhelming.

I even encountered conflicting messages about breakfast, eggs, Keto, plant-based diets, and the belief that traditional African foods contributed to weight gain. Determined to uncover the truth, I delved into the world of nutrition and gained credible knowledge to separate fact from fiction.

Armed with my newfound wisdom, I started implementing changes. And guess what? The pounds gradually melted away, and over a decade later, I've successfully maintained my weight loss. Surprisingly, I still enjoy all the foods I love, but with a newfound balance in nutrients, portion control, and healthier cooking methods.

Inspired by my own transformation, I've since helped countless overweight and obese clients achieve their weight loss goals. Witnessing their improved health, renewed confidence, increased energy levels, and overall lifestyle changes has been incredibly rewarding.

Self-care is the practice of improving one’s health, well-being, and overall happiness. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact.
Here are some tips to help improve your overall well-being:

1. Get regular exercise

Just 30 minutes of walking every day can help boost your mood and improve your health. Small amounts of exercise add up, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t do 30 minutes at one time.

2. Eat healthy, regular meals and stay hydrated.

A balanced diet and plenty of water can improve your energy and focus throughout the day. Also, limit caffeinated beverages such as soft drinks or coffee.

3. Make sleep a priority.

Stick to a schedule, and make sure you’re getting enough sleep. Blue light from devices and screens can make it harder to fall asleep, so reduce blue light exposure from your phone or computer before bedtime.

4. Try a relaxing activity.

Explore relaxation or wellness programs or apps, which may incorporate meditation, muscle relaxation, or breathing exercises. Schedule regular times for these and other healthy activities you enjoy such as journaling.
