Jev's RRFit Pre/Post Natal

Jev's RRFit Pre/Post Natal Woman's Health & Pre/Post Natal Fitness. Remedial massage. Pregnancy/Postnatal kinesiotaping. Rebuil I did it and I want to help You to do it too! Have fun with it!

Ok, what are the most common obstacles mothers face pre and post baby? These were mine:
Had two kids. Born with 4.300 kg & 4 kg (over 9 pound babies);
Diastasis Recti 4 fingers wide;
A mess of a pelvic floor, incontinence and prolapse;
Poor metabolism;
Post natal weight to lose;
Undisciplined;
Hardly motivated;
Love food! Little support from friends or family;
Poor social life;
Child with disabili

ty;
Suffer with low mood;
Binge eating bouts;
Suffer with Sjögren’s;
Lack of space, tiny flat;
Get bored easily. But I have done it! I found my way back to optimal health, and I have maintained my results. I used to be 90kg (198+ pounds) before I had kids and with the proper resources, and baby steps, my weight is healthier than pre pregnancy and I feel stronger than ever. I have closed my diastasis recti from 4 fingers wide to only a half a finger and my core is STRONG! It takes time and commitment. I’m working everyday to maintain achieved results. But you can’t rush progress! I simply took things one day at a time, and results followed. I’m not one of those super humans who make a goal, make a plan and stick to it religiously. No, that’s not me, this kind of approach stresses me out and I get depressed. I was taking baby steps, day by day. And it worked for me, it worked for me so far. I will help you to find approach best suited for You. I feel better, stronger, healthier and I am glad to be a positive role model for my kids. They asking questions about healthy eating choices, what food will make them stronger, faster, give them beautiful hair. They join me with my exercises and make up their own and put me through their made up drills :))))

Involve your kids, let them join you and copy you alongside. Don’t take it too seriously, and it won’t feel so overwhelming! Enjoy yourself! There is no shortage of options when it comes to workout DVDs, fitness studios, and workout equipment—so you might be wondering what makes my approach unique. For starters, I have been exactly where you are today - so I know where you are coming from. I have succeeded with rehabilitating my own diastasis recti, prolapse and urinary incontinence. Furthermore I have invested and undergone deeper training in my area of specialty achieving the following accreditations:

Pre & Post Natal Fitness Certification with Baby & Me Fitness in Toronto, Canada. Advanced CPD in Modern Post Natal Assessment, Core Restore & Functional Exercise Programming. Licensed Holistic Core Restore® Coach. Let’s Do This Together—Reach Out Today So That We Can Get Started!

Managed to haul the massage bed through the crowds (40 mins each way!) with my daughter and our official mascot by my side. Swipe to see the dog’s official race wristband—he took his job very seriously! 😂
Massaged for about 5 hours for the incredible Phab runners. Tucked away in the tent making sure those incredible runners could actually walk today! Didn’t see much of the race, but I saw plenty of grit, determination, and sore quads.
Our pup was the ultimate mascot, putting so many smiles on runners' faces when they needed it most. 🐶✨
Straight back to work today, but still riding the high from yesterday’s chaos. ☕️💪

🚗 Plot twist: I got my UK driving licence at 46🎉

I am (was) a proud walker.
Public transport queen.
“I don’t need a car” person.

But… having a teenage wheelchair user + getting older + planning a move to the Scottish countryside = the universe giving me a gentle (ok, not so gentle 🦵) kick up the rear to finally learn.

So here I am.
46 years old. Zero driving experience. Never touched a steering wheel before.

I learned everything in about 10 sessions (20 hours) — then had to wait 2 months for my test, so did more lessons + a few drives in our own car.

💥 Passed first time with 1 minor🎉
Minor = I was so nervous my legs were shaking and I gave the accelerator a bit too much love at one point. Clocked it, corrected it — still counts as a win in my book 😅

Real talk:
I went into the test convinced I’d fail.
Bad sleep. Stressy day. Anxiety through the roof.
First day of my period. In a lot of pain.
Basically peak “why did I book this today?” energy.

Huge thanks to my instructor for the calm, reassurance and belief when my brain was doing Olympic-level overthinking 🫠

📊 For anyone thinking “I’m too old / it’s too late / I should’ve done it years ago”:

• 16 x 2-hour lessons
• Passed first time
• Total cost ≈ £1,450 (including test & instructor’s car)

If a 46-year-old non-driver, public-transport-loving, peri-menopausal, overthinking mum can do it…
So can you.

It’s never too late to add a new skill to your life 💪✨

Today something very human happened in my treatment room.

I was working on a woman’s belly and she suddenly started crying.
Not from pain. From… feeling.
She said something along the lines of:
“I’ve always hated my belly. Even before kids. I always hid it. Barely touched it.”

And there she was, feeling my hands on her abdomen — gentle, respectful — while I was talking to her about how strong this area is.
How this belly was a *home* to her children for nine months.
How it carried, protected, created life.
And I said:
We don’t take care of our bodies because we hate them.
We take care of them because we’re grateful.
Because when you love something (or someone), you look after it.
She kept touching her belly, almost like meeting it properly for the first time.
And yes… more tears.

This isn’t the first time this has happened.
And sadly, it probably won’t be the last.

So many women come in wanting to “fix” their belly.
Flatten it. Tighten it. Punish it.

But your belly isn’t a problem to solve.
It’s not an enemy.
It’s not something that needs to be bullied into submission.
It’s an area that’s been ignored, judged, hidden… and deserves a bit of kindness.
You don’t have to love your belly every day.
But maybe we can stop hating it.
That alone already changes a lot.

And just to be clear — talking nicely to your belly doesn’t cancel out exercise, rehab or care 😄
It just makes the whole process a lot healthier.

Your body listens. Even when you think it doesn’t. 💛

🫀 That shoulder pain might not be your shoulder…

Most people know about muscles, joints, and nerves —
but few know that a ligament inside your abdomen can refer pain all the way to your shoulder.

The round ligament of the liver (ligamentum teres hepatis) is a fibrous cord —
a remnant of the fetal left umbilical vein — that runs from the belly button (umbilicus) to the underside of the liver, sitting within the free edge of the falciform ligament.
When this ligament becomes restricted, irritated, or under tension, it can:
• Irritate nearby tissues
• Influence the diaphragm
• Trigger referral pain into the shoulder (often the right, sometimes left)

⚠️ This is not a shoulder injury
⚠️ And often won’t improve with shoulder exercises alone

It’s a reminder that:
👉 Pain doesn’t always come from where you feel it
👉 The body works as one connected system
👉 Visceral & fascial structures matter

If shoulder pain feels stubborn, unexplained, or comes with abdominal / breathing tension — it may be time to look deeper than the joint.

✨ The body always tells a story — if you know how to listen.

isn’t “just tight muscles.” New research explains what’s happening inside the tissue.

A recent study looked at frozen shoulder and found something important:

🧬 The shoulder capsule becomes fibrotic – meaning the tissue turns thick, tight and scar-like.
🧪 A hormone called estradiol (a type of oestrogen) reduced this process in lab studies.
🧠 This worked through a receptor called GPER and a signalling pathway called PI3K/AKT.
🐀 The research was done using animal models and human tissue cells (not live patient trials).

What this means in real life:

✅ Frozen shoulder is a real tissue change, not weakness or laziness
✅ Hormones appear to influence how aggressive the tissue stiffness becomes
✅ This research helps explain patterns we already see in clinic

Important:

This study does not prove a treatment.
It does not say to use hormone therapy.
It explains the mechanism, not a cure.

💡But it does support careful, consistent movement and tissue-focused support rather than “just push through it.”

📣 Important Update: Clinic Closing September 20th

After many beautiful years of supporting others through massage and movement, I’ve made the decision to close my clinic. My last day of work will be September 20th.

It’s not an easy goodbye, but it’s a necessary pause — and a chance for new beginnings. 💛

Thank you to every person who shared this space with me, trusted me, and allowed me to be part of your journey. I’ll be forever grateful.

If you'd like to book one final session before I close, my diary is open — but filling quickly.

With love,
Jev
