Remember the flu? Considering that we have been dealing with the 😷 COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020, it’s understandable if you have forgotten that flu season is now upon us.
🦠The flu is an infection caused by influenza viruses and spreads easily from person to person, for instance, through coughs and sneezes. 🤧
Having the flu can put your life on hold. Unlike with a common cold, you might struggle much more to cope with everyday tasks when suffering from the flu and may often need bedrest. 🛌 😴
The flu can affect anyone in the community, even fit and healthy people. Flu symptoms come on very quickly and can include a sudden 🤒 fever, headache, cough, sore throat and runny nose, as well as aching muscles and a general feeling of tiredness and being unwell. The fever and body ache may last 3-5 days and the cough for 2 or more weeks. It can take a lot longer to recover from the flu than from a cold, affecting not only you but your friends and family too.
This years flu season has potential to be severe. Usually, flu seasons are easier to handle when some portion of the population has a natural immunity, due to getting infected the previous year. But since many of us spent last winter relentlessly washing hands and social distancing, fewer people than normal got the flu.
We highly recommend and encourage getting your flu jab between now and the end of October. 💉 The flu vaccination offers the best protection against the flu.
Avoid the flu this winter and get your flu jab with us here at 104 Harley Street, London. 🇬🇧
