On the first day of Spring - we celebrated the moment by blissfully taking in a spot of sunshine in our gardens. Whilst being gently protected with sun cream, Marie said: 'Well, this is all rather nice' and Peter visibly glistened in the spotlight. George & Alfredo relaxed with ease as the latter quipped: 'Oh my. This feels great!'

Happy Red Nose Day! On Comic Relief, a red nose is a universal symbol of solidarity, laughter & spirit of community as we jested away through the day. Today, our Residents & Day guests had a joke or two as we improved well-being & released endorphins. With the sun shining bright to Christine's delight, she said, 'Oh, go on then,' when kindly asked if she wanted to join in. Jennifer, Larry & Peter posed with their nose! Kay beamed with happiness & Adrian said, 'Well, we best do our biggest smiles then!'. Every day is special; come & see why...

Music helps our minds travel & makes the world go round! Research shows a possible connection between music & a rise in endorphins. Maybe even our hearts beat in sync. George & Del felt the rhythm of the beat with joy on repeat as we sung along to every song with laughter, happy tears & a timeless journey through the musical years. We are delighted to share the incredible news that two of our staff members have been acknowledged for going above & beyond!

The award ceremony took place at the Royal Borough Kingston Council offices on 10th March & were presented by the local Mayor! Made more special - the award nominees were selected by staff across all care homes in the borough. Out of an incredible 350 nominations - we were awarded the best team category! A remarkable achievement that reflects dedication & unwavering support. Yvette was awarded first prize & Ashly earned second prize - which showcases exceptional teamwork, commitment and is testament to the positive impact both make every single day...

In a moment that sparked creativity during arts & crafts - Larry was as detailed as ever as he responded "I am!" when asked: "Are you a perfectionist?". A retained ability, Larry (deep in concentration) said: "I love to do this. They are my favourite" - referring to the giraffe & elephant sketches that leapt off the page. Over the weekend - love was in the air with plenty of care as we adjusted cupids' arrow to target sentiment, joy & fun...

Kunju & Carmel smiled over their rose with a bashful pose! Beloved friendships blossomed as Peter; Cathy & Kay celebrated with the rest of their 'buds'. Kay jokingly said: 'No, its mine!' as she held her balloon close & Jennifer was uplifted by the gesture! From love themed playlists to card making & games, more roses prompted Larry to say: 'Thank you. You are a good friend'. From everyone here at the Devonshire - we hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day!
