Sometimes, stress doesn’t just stay in your mind — it shows up in your body.

A racing heart, restlessness, or feeling constantly on edge are signs that your nervous system may be in overdrive.

The good news is that you can help your body return to balance with simple practices:

• slowing down your breathing
• grounding yourself in the present moment
• creating small, consistent routines

These aren’t complicated techniques — but when practiced regularly, they can have a powerful impact on how your brain and body respond to stress.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to understand their stress responses and build practical tools for emotional regulation and resilience.

Do you react in the moment… and then wish you had responded differently?

That’s where emotional regulation comes in. Resilience is not about controlling emotions, it’s about managing how you respond to them.

When stress increases:
• the brain shifts toward quick, impulsive reactions
• emotional control becomes harder
• responses become more reactive than intentional

But this can change. With the right awareness and support, it’s possible to create a pause between impulse and response; and that’s where resilience begins.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to build emotional regulation, manage stress, and develop healthier response patterns.

World Health Day marks the founding anniversary of the World Health Organization. This year's theme, "Together for health. Stand with science," spotlights the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, and the planet. The day focuses on promoting universal health coverage and addressing urgent global health challenges

On World Health Day, we’re reminded that true wellbeing goes beyond the physical; it begins within the mind.

In a world that constantly demands more from us, emotional resilience is what helps us pause, process, and find balance again. It is not about avoiding stress, but about strengthening the way we respond to it.

Your mind deserves the same care, attention, and support as your body.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to build emotional clarity, resilience, and lasting mental wellbeing, grounded in both science and compassion.

✨ Take a moment today to check in with yourself.
✨ Prioritise your mental wellbeing.
✨ And if needed, seek support — because you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Have you ever felt either completely overwhelmed or totally shut down during stress?

That’s your nervous system at work.

Your body shifts between two main states:
• Fight or Flight (high stress, high alert)
• Rest & Recover (calm, balanced state)

Emotional resilience is not about avoiding stress, it’s about how effectively your nervous system can return to balance. This balance is known as your window of tolerance - the space where you can think clearly, respond calmly, and function effectively.

The good news?
This system can be trained. With the right tools and support, you can learn how to regulate your responses and expand your capacity to handle stress.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to understand their stress responses and build healthier regulation patterns.

Good Friday is often a time of reflection, a pause to acknowledge difficult moments, both within and around us.

From a psychological perspective, healing doesn’t come from avoiding discomfort, but from allowing the brain to process and make sense of it.

Moments of stillness, reflection, and awareness can:
• reduce emotional overwhelm
• support regulation
• create space for healing

Resilience is not about always being strong, it’s about allowing yourself to move through difficult experiences with awareness and support.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to navigate emotional challenges, process experiences, and build long-term resilience.

Can resilience actually be trained or is it something you’re born with?
Neuroscience shows that your brain is constantly adapting based on your experiences and habits.

This means you can:
• build healthier responses to stress
• reduce emotional reactivity
• strengthen your ability to recover from challenges

Through consistent practices and the right support, the brain can rewire itself toward resilience. This is where therapy plays an important role.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to help them understand their patterns, build healthier habits, and strengthen emotional resilience over time.

What if resilience wasn’t something you’re born with, but something your brain can learn?

Emotional resilience is the brain’s ability to:
• adapt to challenges
• recover from stress
• respond with flexibility instead of reactivity

It doesn’t mean you won’t feel overwhelmed at times.
It means your brain can learn how to come back to balance more effectively.

The encouraging part?
This ability can be strengthened.

Through awareness, practice, and the right support, it’s possible to build healthier patterns that improve how you respond to stress and everyday challenges.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to build emotional resilience, regulate stress, and develop sustainable coping strategies.

Healing is often seen as something emotional but it’s also deeply biological.

Therapy doesn’t just help you talk about your experiences.
It helps your brain change how it responds to them.

Through structured support, the brain can:

• form new neural pathways
• reduce stress reactivity
• improve emotional balance
• build healthier patterns over time

This is why healing is not about “fixing yourself” —
it’s about supporting your brain to function differently.

And change is always possible.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to support this process of healing and helping them move toward greater clarity, balance, and resilience.

Not all stress fades with time.
Sometimes, it stays stored in the brain and body.

Trauma can affect how the brain processes safety, memory, and emotional responses.

This may show up as:
• feeling constantly on edge
• strong reactions to certain triggers
• difficulty relaxing or feeling safe

These are not signs of weakness. They are the brain’s way of trying to protect you.
With the right support, these patterns can change.

Trauma-informed therapy helps the brain and nervous system gradually move from survival mode to safety.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals navigating trauma, stress, and emotional overwhelm through structured and supportive therapeutic approaches.

Do you ever feel more anxious after a poor night’s sleep?

That’s because sleep and stress are deeply connected.

When stress increases:
• cortisol levels stay elevated
• the brain struggles to relax
• sleep quality decreases

And when sleep is disrupted:
• emotional regulation weakens
• anxiety increases
• stress becomes harder to manage

This creates a cycle that can be difficult to break without support.

The good news is that improving sleep and managing stress together can significantly improve overall mental wellbeing.

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, and sleep disturbances; helping them restore balance in both mind and body.

What if therapy didn’t just change how you feel, but actually changed how your brain functions?

The prefrontal cortex, responsible for rational thinking and emotional control, often becomes less active under stress.
This is why during difficult periods, you may feel:
• overwhelmed
• reactive
• unable to think clearly
• stuck in unhelpful patterns

Therapy works by helping you strengthen this part of the brain through structured techniques, awareness, and emotional regulation.
Over time, this can lead to
• clearer decision-making
• improved emotional balance
• better stress management
• healthier responses in everyday situations

At Nelumbo Consultancy, Dr. Bhavna Jaiswal works with individuals to build these skills and support long-term mental resilience.
