To reach Magale, we travelled 1.5 hours by sea and another 90 minutes across rough, off-road tracks that the maps don’t show. We went to the remote corners of Tadjoura in Africa to deliver food parcels, but what we found there changed us forever.
In a village where homes are made of twigs and every day is a struggle for the basics, we were met with a level of hospitality that is hard to put into words.
Despite having so little, the people of Magale spent hours cooking a feast to welcome us. In a place where every grain counts, they chose to share what they had with total strangers. It was a humbling reminder that true wealth isn’t measured by what you have, but by how much you are willing to give. We went there to feed them, but the people of Magale truly fed our souls.
They taught us that even in the most difficult circumstances, the Sunnah of generosity remains alive.
Nourishing hearts, near and far. Sunnah Spoon.
