Saturday lunch invitation arrives.

November was the test run.

So that you could find your rhythm - before the full Christmas madness - so that you could actually enjoy December instead of white-knuckling your way through it.

But here's what I'm seeing in my messages right now: women are already mentally checked out.

They're telling themselves they'll "be good" in the new year.
They'll start fresh.
They'll finally sort it out.

Meanwhile, November flies past.
December speeds up.
Life happens.
And January arrives with them starting from further back, more exhausted, even heavier and less confident than they are right now.

I've watched this pattern for decades.

The women who feel stronger, more energised, and confident in their clothes ?
They used November differently.
They're not trying to be perfect.
They're building structure that flexes.
They're proving to themselves that they can stay consistent when life gets busy, not just when everything's calm.

Because here's the truth: life is never going to calm down and be perfect.
That's not how it works in midlife is it?

Your diary's packed.
Work parties, school events, social things you can't avoid.

The question is: are you going to have a rhythm that fits your real life, or are you going to resentfully try to be perfect until you give up completely?

One keeps you moving forward.

Your Behaviour Is Telling the Truth

Stop listening to what you say.
Watch what you do.

I had a lady who swore blind health was her number one priority.
Then she'd stay up until midnight, skip breakfast, have a coffee and sausage roll for lunch THEN demolish a family-size bag of crisps with 2 glasses of wine before dinner.

When I called her out, she was genuinely shocked. "I didn't realise I was doing anything wrong - I was skipping breakfast to save the calories"

Yes she did.
She just hadn't admitted it to herself yet.

Your behaviour is always telling the truth about your priorities.
Not what you wish they were.
What they actually are.

If you say health is important but treat sleep as optional, guess what your real priority is? Staying up late.

If you say weight loss matters but use food or alcohol to manage stress every night, guess what's more important? Avoiding uncomfortable feelings.

This is true whether you're on Mounjaro or not.
The medication can't fix behaviours.
Only you can do that.

And once you see what's true, you can decide if you want to change it.
But you can't change what you won't acknowledge.

Isn't it though?

You're tired? Sleep more.
You're stressed? Find a way to decompress that doesn't involve a family-size bag of Tayto.
You're using food to cope? Figure out what you're actually trying to cope with.

After decades of working with professional women, I can tell you this: people love making things complicated. It gets them off the hook.
Like they're dealing with something that requires advanced knowledge to solve.

But the solution is almost always simple.
Uncomfortable, yes. But simple.

Your brain makes thousands of decisions on autopilot every day based on what's easiest.

You know exactly why you can't lose weight.
You just don't want to say it out loud.
The late-night biscuits.
The bottle of wine that's "just to unwind."
The 1am scrolling when you know you should be asleep.
