It's after dinner.
The day's done.
You're done.

You haven't had a minute to yourself all day and now suddenly you're having a full on negotiation with yourself about whether you "deserve" something.

Just one glass.

Someone asked me recently why I never post client photos.

That’s a great question.
Everyone else seems to so why not?

The women I work with aren’t shy - they’re selective.
There’s a difference.
They share what they want, when they want, with whom they want.
That’s not hiding.
That’s having boundaries.

They want to lose the weight.
Feel better in their clothes.
Stop evening cravings.
Ditch wine o’clock
Sleep properly again.
They don’t want to be a transformation post.
And I respect that.
Completely.

Every week you put this off, your metabolism adapts.
Not to where you want to be.
To where you are.

Your gut bacteria shift to match your current habits.

No pouty mirror shots.
No “here’s me looking thoughtful with a coffee.”
No before and afters plastered everywhere.

It's not a willpower or discipline problem.
It's a 7am problem.

I've been saying this for donkeys and I'll keep saying it: what you eat first thing in the morning dictates what you'll crave at 4pm.

Toast and jam?
You've just bought a first class ticket for the glucose rollercoaster.
By mid-morning you're crashing.
By afternoon you're sitting on your hands doing your best NOT TO.
By evening? You're too tired to give a frig anymore.

And us Gen X gals?
After 40, something called anabolic resistance kicks in.
Your muscles become harder to build and easier to lose.
And muscle isn't just for looking toned - it's what keeps your metabolism working for you instead of against you.

But your tracker doesn't know you've been running on caffeine and adrenaline since 6am.
It doesn't know your blood sugar's been on a rollercoaster since that toast at breakfast.
Or that by 4 o'clock, you're having a serious word with yourself about whether a "small" chocolate counts.

You can't outwalk a dysregulated system.
You can't out-step a breakfast that set you up to fail.

Can I tell you about the woman who nearly didn't join?

She'd been following me for months.
Reading everything.
Agreeing with all of it.

And I understand what you're saying
You've bought the meal plans that sat in your inbox.

I'm going to say something that might sting a bit.
You've been reading my posts this week.
Nodding along.
Maybe even thinking "she's talking about me."
And yet you haven't messaged.
I'm curious why.

Is it the £100?
That's less than you'll spend on wine and takeaways this month trying to "treat yourself" through another exhausting January.
