Well the weather isn’t very exciting but this is!
I’m going back to school again with the fabulous Cotswold Academy in Cirencester from September 10-12.
I’ll be taking a module from the Level 5 Sports Massage Therapy course (I’m currently qualified at level 4)
Injury Management and Rehabilitation of the upper body.
If all goes well, not only will I be able to help you with pain management but I’ll be able to assist with your rehabilitation with the following goals.
1 Reduce pain and Inflammation
2 Restore range of motion
3 Improve strength and flexibility
4 Enhance overall functional ability
5 prevent future injuries.
Always striving to give you the best treatment I can.
(Feel free to share or tell a friend, personal recommendations are really important for me 🙏🤗)

Some wise words from Dr Xand, I see a lot of clients with neck and shoulder pain and our current lifestyle of computers and mobiles is certainly not helping.
If you have minor issues you don’t want to become major ones, I have availability from September 2nd. 👍
Sitting up straight isn't the only secret to good posture - here are three more tips
Here are Dr Xand's three suggestions on how to look after your back without turning into a statue.

Holidays looming! I’ll be taking a few weeks break from August 8th. I’ve got quite a few options available before then if you need a booking 👍🍻

My wife recently suggested that my gravestone should say “He made himself laugh” she’s right obviously but I hope she isn’t planning it too soon 🤔
I’m wondering if it shouldn’t say “He blew his own trumpet”?
The uncomfortable side of running your own business is the self promotion. It’s necessary but I don’t like doing it, so I’m just going to leave this here. Sports massage, aches, pains and…performance!

Thank you Whitefield Volleyball Tournament, you’ve kept me busy and this has been well earned! (Cocoa and Vanilla so at least two of my five-a-day)

Home for the weekend, taping and smoothing at the Whitefield Volleyball Tournament, Imperial Sports Ground, Bristol.
Can’t but help remember fun times playing at Patchway Fire Station, those fire calls were always a pesky interruption 😉

Strong thumbs, great for massage but also handy for changing tubes!
Just home from two days cycling Route 27, Plymouth to Barnstaple, great route, recommended 🚴🏾♂️
Looking forward to working at the Whitefield Volleyball Tournament this weekend, don’t worry, I’m driving there! 🏐

I’ll just leave this here. (Unsolicited message from a client)🤗
Messages don’t need to be long to get the point across. Why not send that message you’ve been putting off because you haven’t got time to write something long?

Living my adventures vicariously at the moment. Great to see my friend Andrew and his mate Steve on day 3 of their 10 day Lands End to John O’Groats. No need for any massage but they didn’t say no to a nice cup of soup and a sandwich! Andrew is raising some money for the RNLI, feel free to make a small contribution. https://www.justgiving.com/page/andrew-mckenzie-lejog

A pleasure to catch up with Dr Megan Powell today. Megan popped in for a final loosen before heading out to Chigago for the Hyrox World Championships next week.
With over 500,000 Hyrox competitors barely the top 1% make it to the championships.
“Inspirational” can be a little overused, I’ve even been called it myself once (thanks mum)
but I am lucky to have some truly inspirational clients!
Good luck Megan 👏

Hot on the heels of a memorable career in Avon Fire and Rescue Service, my new passion continues my desire to interact with and help people.
Now a member of FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) I trained with the fantastic Cotswold Academy in Cirencester where I achieved an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy in 2018 and, an ITEC Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy in 2019.
I’ve always had a passion for sport with cycling being my number one hobby. Over the years I’ve taken part in many cycling events both on and off road and I’ve also enjoyed a quick sprint around the velodrome.
I played softball for ten years for Bristol team The Guppies, always first division and occasional champions. Success on and off the pitch meant hooking up with my wife of 16 years, Rebecca, another Guppies player at the time.
I’ve had a passing acquaintance with many other sports over the years including Volleyball, Squash, Badminton, Tennis, Table tennis, Skiing, Snowboarding, Cricket, Sailing, Golf, Pilates and once, when I was late for an appointment, I had a go at running.
I have first hand experience of injury and illness and I know how debilitating these can be, both physically and mentally. The links between physical activity and mental health are well known. Having received sports massage therapies myself I know that a swift return to your chosen sport or hobby can boost not just your health, but also your wellbeing.
You don’t need to be a sports person to benefit from sports massage therapy. I am trained to treat soft tissue dysfunction and diagnose a range of injuries. If you are getting aches and pains in muscles or even joints this may be caused by tension or damage in the muscles. Poor posture, repetitive strain, overuse and stress can all benefit from sports massage therapy.
Treatments are provided in my dedicated treatment room at home in Long Ashton. I have also supported events such as the Bath Half Marathon and the Great Weston Ride, providing pre and post event massage. It has also been a pleasure to stay in touch with my old friends and colleagues from Avon Fire and Rescue and it’s my hope to continue supporting them with their charity endeavours.
Please get in touch if you think there’s something I can help you with, all the best.
