🌿 International Women’s Day

Today, on International Women’s Day, I’m taking a moment to acknowledge the strength, resilience and complexity of women’s lived experiences.

In my counselling work, I sit alongside women navigating so many layers of life - grief and loss, career changes, motherhood, identity shifts, relationship endings, caring responsibilities, burnout, and quiet questions about who am I now? Behind every role and responsibility is a whole person with a unique story.

International Women’s Day is not only about celebrating achievements; it is also about recognising emotional labour, unseen struggles, and the courage it takes to ask for support.

From a person-centred perspective, I believe each woman already holds the capacity for growth and healing within her. Sometimes what’s needed is a safe, compassionate space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with that inner strength at her own pace, in her own way.

If today brings pride, celebration, exhaustion, anger, grief, hope, or a mix of all of them, your experience is valid.

You deserve to be heard.
You deserve support.
You deserve space.

🌷 If you’re feeling ready to prioritise yourself this season, I’m here to listen.

🌱 Spring is a time for growth and new beginnings 🌱

As the days get lighter and nature begins to bloom, it can also be a time to reflect on your own journey. Whether you’re navigating grief, life changes, or periods of uncertainty, counselling offers a safe, supportive space to explore your feelings and move forward at your own pace.

Taking time for yourself isn’t always easy, but it can be the first step towards clarity, healing, and renewed energy for the months ahead. If you feel ready, I’m here to listen, reflect, and support you on your unique path.

💙 Blue Monday 💙

If today feels heavy, you’re not alone.

Today is often called “the most depressing day of the year” but really, it’s just another day where many people may be carrying a little more than usual.
The darker mornings, financial worries, health concerns, changes in relationships, or quiet feelings of loss can all start to catch up with us around this time of year.

If today feels tough, please be kind to yourself. You don’t have to be productive, positive, or “push through” to be doing okay. Sometimes getting through the day is more than enough.

And if you’re finding things hard right now, reaching out for support can really help whether that’s to a friend, a loved one, or a counsellor. You deserve a space where you can talk openly and be met with understanding, just as you are.

Be gentle with yourself today. Brighter days don’t have to be rushed, they can arrive in their own time. 💙

☁️ Seasonal changes can affect us in different ways and whatever you’re feeling is valid ☁️

For some, the darker mornings and longer nights can bring a sense of heaviness, low mood, or feeling less like ourselves. From a person-centred perspective, there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to experience this time of year, only your experience, and it deserves to be met with kindness and understanding.

You might notice you have less energy, feel more withdrawn, or find things that usually help don’t seem to work as well right now. Rather than pushing yourself to “snap out of it,” it can help to gently listen to what you’re needing whether that’s more rest, more connection, or simply permission to take things at a slower pace.

If seasonal low mood is starting to feel overwhelming, you don’t have to face it alone. Having a safe, supportive space to talk can really help.

✨If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re very welcome to get in touch for an informal, no-pressure chat about what support might feel right for you. Even taking that first small step can be enough for today.

💙 The start of January can feel… a lot.

After the busyness of Christmas and New Year, many people notice a dip in energy, motivation, or mood. You might feel flat, emotional, anxious, or simply exhausted and that’s completely okay.

There’s no “right” way to feel right now. You don’t need to be refreshed, positive, or full of goals. You are allowed to arrive in January exactly as you are.

Being kind to yourself at this time of year might look like:
✨ resting when you can
✨ keeping expectations gentle
✨ doing small, grounding things that bring a sense of comfort
✨ reaching out for support if things feel heavy

If you’re finding this start to the year difficult, you don’t have to carry it alone. Reach out for a free 20 minute initial consultation to see how counselling could help.

Take today one step at a time. That is more than enough. 🤍

The New Year can stir up all kinds of complicated feelings, especially if you’re struggling at the moment. Add in the pressure to celebrate and it can all just feel like too much.

If you find this a hard time of year, you're not on your own – we’ll be here all night long 💚

✨ Wishing You a Gentle and Hopeful New Year ✨

As we step into a new year, I’m reminded that change doesn’t have to come with pressure, resolutions, or perfection. It can simply begin with a small moment of noticing… a breath, a feeling, a hope.

If this year has been heavy, I hope the next offers lightness.
If you’ve felt lost, I hope you find moments of clarity.
If you’ve been hard on yourself, I hope you find kindness within.

In person-centred counselling, we believe that growth comes from compassion, acceptance, and being truly heard. If you’re looking for support as you move into the year ahead, know that you don’t have to walk it alone.

Here’s to new beginnings, gentle steps, and the possibility of healing. 💫
Happy New Year.

✨Taking Time to Reflect Between Christmas & New Year✨

The days between Christmas and New Year can feel a little different.
Quieter for some, heavier for others, and sometimes a mix of both.

If you can, this can be a kind time to pause - not to pressure yourself into big goals or resolutions, but simply to notice how you’re feeling. What has this year been like for you? What do you feel proud of? What has been hard? What do you need a little more (or less) of as you move forward?

Reflection doesn’t have to mean fixing or changing anything. Sometimes it’s just about listening to yourself with curiosity and compassion 💙

If this time of year feels challenging, please know you’re not alone and it’s okay to take things at your own pace.

Be gentle with yourself as the year turns.

🎄 Wishing You a Gentle Christmas 🎄

Whether today is joyful, quiet, complicated, or somewhere in between I want to wish you a Christmas that meets you with kindness.

For some, today is filled with connection.
For others, it may bring loneliness, grief, stress, or mixed emotions.
However this day looks for you, your feelings are valid.

Be gentle with yourself.
Rest when you need to.
Take things at your own pace.
And know that you are not alone.

Wishing you moments of peace, comfort and warmth today.
💛 Merry Christmas.
