YOUR KEY FEEDBACK ANSWERS…
Thank you to so many of you who took the time to respond to our recent request for suggestions on how we can improve and invest in new facilities from October onwards.
Here are our answers to the most common suggestions:
• From August, we are installing a scanner outside each class studio. Booked members will be asked to scan to confirm attendance. Members who book but do not attend or fail to cancel on the app will receive a text placing them on the naughty step.
IF A MEMBER MISSES OR FAILS TO CANCEL TWICE IN A MONTH, THEY WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO BOOK CLASSES AND MAY RISK NO GUARANTEED PLACE IN FUTURE SESSIONS.
• Also in August, members will have the option to add a QR code to their Apple Wallet to access the club. Members will be able to choose between using a QR code or their fob.
• Weekend massage appointments will resume in October.
• From 1st September, members will be able to book their pre-paid massages via the app.
• I have reviewed our operations team, and changes have been made to speed up responses to maintenance issues.
• Unfortunately, no further equipment can be added to the ladies-only gym area due to space limitations. We also want to preserve the successful ethos we’ve maintained in this area over the past 12 years.
• Rainforest Spa hours will be extended to 9am–8pm from 1st October.
• In the coming weeks, we are refurbishing parts of the Fire & Ice Spa, including new feature walls and sauna bench replacements.
• An ice fountain will be added to the Rainforest Spa in October.
• New heavy-duty Olympic bars will arrive for the Sports Performance Centre in September.
• We’ve faced a long-standing challenge increasing the water pressure to gym drinks machines due to building complexities. I am reviewing this again.
• We’ve reviewed our agreement with Les Mills for class licensing. The new agreement includes training options to ensure correct class coverage (e.g., Grit & Trip) and promotional events led by their master instructors for timetable launches.
• Unfortunately, Reformer Pilates cannot be included in general membership due to limited capacity — we will have only 6 beds and around 800 members weekly wishing to join. Proposed Pricing per class (subject to confirmation):
• Lifetime members: £15
• Other members: £16
• Non-members: £19
The average class price in the area is currently £22–£27. The studio opens in October.
• Additional benches will be added to the centre of the men’s changing room in October.
• We will begin offering member and returning spa guest social evenings from mid-August. Dates will be announced soon.
• We’re increasing drink and snack options in both the Waterfall Café and Rainforest Spa, and have added more options to the reception vending machine.
• Cardio machines will be upgraded in late autumn. I’m currently negotiating with three different suppliers.
• I can confirm the gym will be open 24 hours, Monday to Friday, starting 1st October. Members will access the building via an outside scanner.
STAFF WILL BE ONSITE. NO GUESTS PERMITTED BETWEEN 10PM–5AM.
