OPENING UPDATE — Refurbishment Starting Immediately — Frequently Asked Questions
As many of you know, the recent fire was devastating.
Since taking over, the new owners, management team, staff, builders and contractors have been working around the clock to reopen the club and spa safely and as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, due to:
• The new fire alarm system not yet being fully signed off
• An unforeseen delay in delivery of the new roof
The studios, spa, pool, day spa and showers will now reopen on Monday 16th March.
We know this is disappointing. We are just as eager as you are to reopen everything. However, we are choosing to use this extra time positively — by starting major refurbishments immediately.
⸻
Major Investment & Refurbishments Starting Now
As previously announced, the new owners are investing millions of pounds into new facilities and staff training.
While reopening is slightly delayed, work will now begin straight away on:
• Full refurbishment of the original hydrotherapy pool
• Refurbishment of all heated loungers
• Redesign of the Fire & Ice spa corridors to create wider walkways
• Construction of a brand-new 15-person sauna (replacing the two damaged saunas)
• Extension of the main studio
• Build of the new Reformer Pilates studio
• New décor in the main pool area and reception
• Redecoration of the entire health club
This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Lifetime Memberships
Signature, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby & Sapphire Lifetime memberships are being honoured under the new company, subject to a £30 yearly management fee.
To continue uninterrupted use, the £30 fee should be paid by Saturday 28th February.
If paid later, membership access will be paused until the fee is received.
Full details and payment information can be found at:
www.theregenthealthclub.co.uk/lifetime-membership-update/
Gold, Diamond, Ruby, Emerald & Sapphire 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10-year memberships are being honoured with no management fee.
Clifford Health Club memberships are not transferable under the new company and members will need to rejoin from Sunday 1st March. These were originally complimentary or significantly discounted many years ago (e.g. £150 fifteen years ago).
The new company has chosen to recognise as many historic commitments as possible. The administration fees contribute towards system transfers, operational costs and honouring arrangements made under previous ownership.
There are no planned price increases for Direct Debit memberships, aside from standard annual inflation adjustments.
⸻
Access Changes (Important)
From Sunday 1st March, access will be via Apple Wallet or Google Wallet only. Fobs will no longer work. This can be obtained at reception
Before the fire, over 150 members per day were sharing fobs. This created overcrowding and was unfair to paying members. The new digital access system will prevent misuse and improve your experience.
⸻
Classes & Timetable
The new timetable will be released as soon as possible.
The Reformer Pilates structure is still being finalised.
• Lifetime members can book classes 7 days in advance.
• All other members can book 5 days in advance.
• Members can book one class per day (additional classes may be attended if space is confirmed by the instructor).
Member massages will resume from 22nd March.
All bookings will be via the app only. Reception and phone bookings will no longer be available.
⸻
Communication Delays
We sincerely apologise if it is taking longer to reach us.
We are currently experiencing a 700% increase in calls and messages following the fire and closure. The new owners are investing in additional staff and improved systems to resolve this quickly.
⸻
Looking Ahead
The new owners took over less than two weeks ago during an incredibly challenging time. There was no opportunity to plan for a situation that forced the previous company into liquidation.
Despite that, significant investment is already underway.
We truly believe the future of The Regent Health Club & Spa is going to be exceptional — with upgraded facilities, improved standards and a better overall experience for every member and guest.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
