I’m Beckie, a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) behind Talk and Thrive SLT, a private Speech & Language Therapy service supporting children, young people, and adults.

I provide communication assessments and therapy for individuals with communication needs related to:

💜 Learning disabilities

📍 Sessions are available via:

My work focuses on functional communication, supporting people to better understand and express themselves in everyday life. Where appropriate, I can also provide clear written reports following assessment.

Hey everyone! 👋

Some of you might remember that I originally set up this page when I was offering singing and piano lessons 🎶 Back then, I loved helping people find their voice — quite literally!

One day during a lesson, a student asked me if I could offer speech therapy too 🗣️ At the time, I wasn’t qualified — you need a degree and registration to be a Speech and Language Therapist — but it really got me thinking.

After a lot of thought (and a few nerves!), I applied to university to retrain, and now I’m proud to be working as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist 🎓💬

It might sound like a big change, but honestly, music and speech therapy have a lot in common: they’re both about building confidence, self-expression, and helping people be heard ❤️🎵

🌟 Hello and welcome (back) to my page! 🌟

Some of you may know me as a music teacher offering singing and piano lessons 🎶 — but I wanted to reintroduce myself, as my page has recently had a little makeover!

I’m Beckie, a HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist, now expanding into private practice after working in NHS mental health hospitals. I support young people (12+) and adults with their communication, particularly those with mental health needs, neurodiversity (such as autism and ADHD), and learning disabilities.

✨ I now offer:

- 1:1 speech and language therapy sessions (home visits, community-based, or online)

- A free 20-minute consultation to explore how I can support you

- Services across Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Loughborough — and online, wherever you are!

🎵 And yes — I’m still offering singing and piano lessons too!

A little about me… I recently had a baby boy 👶💙, and when I’m not doing all things baby or work-related, I love reading, catching up with friends and family, and (constantly) thinking about what colour to dye my hair next! 💇‍♀️✨

Hello everyone, long time no see! 👋🏻

I hope you are all doing well ☺️ I’m now working full time as a Speech and Language Therapist but I just can’t keep away from the world of teaching music! 🤣

I just wanted to make a post as I am able to open 2 half hour lesson slots on a Saturday morning if anyone would be interested, past or new students 🎶

I can offer lessons in:
🎙 Singing (beginner to advanced) 🎙
🎹 Piano (beginner) 🎹
🎼 Music theory (grades 1-5) 🎼

However the lessons would be online only as I no longer have a studio space📱💻

My piano is still available to buy if anyone is interested!

Would anyone be interested in a digital piano? It’s with a heavy heart I am selling my Yamaha Clavinova CLP-155 as I simply just don’t play on it anymore.

It’s in excellent condition, full 88 keys, 3 pedals. Includes stool. Selection of pre-set voices, metronome and record function.

This was a posthumous gift from my Grandad so I want to sell it to a home where it will continue to be loved ❤️ It’s advertised online for approx £200-250, it’s served me well for over half my life and I’m really sad to let it go but reasons must.

Send me a PM if interested. You will need to arrange collection as I’m not able to deliver it myself.

Hello everyone 💕

It is with sadness, although bittersweet, that I will be closing down my vocal and piano coaching later this year, as I have been offered a position to work in the NHS as a full time Speech and Language Therapist, starting in the summer.

I will return to teaching on Tuesday 3rd May until Thursday 16th June 2022 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays if any of my current students would like to have a few more lessons with myself. I will be contacting all of my current students over the next few weeks to confirm future lessons and I will also be giving out details for other local teachers who may be able to continue their tuition once I have finished in June. If you have been on my waiting list, I am so sorry that I haven’t been able to book you in for lessons.
