FIELD CARE SUPERVISOR - Colchester

This position is predominantly a care role with extra supervisor responsibilities working with and reporting to the manager, who is situated in another location therefore communication skills are key.

Duties to include:

Care reviews
Care plans
Help with Rota's
On Call
Risk Assessing
Recruitment
liaising with Council social workers and placement teams to bring on new clients
Other varied field duties to ensure the quality of care for our clients meets the highest standards.

We are looking for a responsible and organised person with good ethics of quality care. This position would suit an experienced carer looking to climb the ladder but are still happy to work a full rota of care. We invite applicants who already have management or supervisory experience who are happy to carry out care. This position would not suit school hours or someone looking to work solely at a desk. We expect that initially you will share management hours with the manager giving you about 5 hours a week of admin and 32.5 hours of care.

The right candidate would ideally grow the team and client base to a level where they can take a less active role in care thus enabling them to manage their team of carers and clients effectively. There is an expectation that you will work every other weekend on care but in time you can start to reduce the weekend work other than to cover sickness and holidays.

Our group of Clients are predominantly in the Stanway area of Colchester and from experience we would like the ideal candidate to be living in or close to the area.

Although this would suit a carer looking to progress up the ladder the position is open to senior and more experienced staff who are looking for a new challenge and keen to prove they can be successful at Briarcare.

We are adding to our amazing team of domiciliary carers here at Briarcare in Bury St Edmunds and would love to hear from you if you feel passionate about care and want to make a difference.

All training and shadowing is supplied so you do not need to have experience for this position.

'I wrote a poem for my nan whom we lost to Alzheimer's disease. She lived with us throughout her condition and the support of the charity, research, and information meant we could approach her illness with the care it needed.

'We miss her every day, and sometimes I worry about how she felt throughout her journey when she couldn't express it.'

I was just thinking, it's been a while,
since I've seen you laugh or smile.
I witness your confusion, your vacant stare.
I hope I am of comfort just by being there.

Some days I feel sad when I have to think twice,
about just popping in and asking for advice.
For the nan I knew so witty and sure,
is lost and not with me anymore.

Although sometimes she is back if just for a pause,
and I cherish this moment before it withdraws.
These flashes of brilliance become short and few,
but it means the world to be reminded it is still you.

You may not be the nan I remember or recall,
but you are the one who will teach me to rise above it all.
To keep going, stay positive and give all I can,
and I reflect; with fondness, on my time caring for you nan.

You were not a burden, a problem or a pain.
I would happily go back and support you all over again,
For despite the sadness, holding your hand meant a lot.
I was your granddaughter, I loved you, just sometimes you forgot.

DOMICILIARY CARE STAFF NEEDED.

We are looking for home care staff to work evenings and weekends.

We have vacancies in the following areas:

Sudbury
Bury St Edmunds
Stowmarket

We are keen to recruit trustworthy and reliable staff with a caring nature to deliver care to vulnerable adults in their own homes. No experience needed as training will be given.

At present we only have vacancies for drivers due to the location of our clients.

£11.50 M-F & £12:00 at weekends. (pay increases for 2024 due April/May)

Various shifts are available at weekends:

Mornings 07:00am - 11:00am
Lunches - 11:00am - 2:30pm
Tea and Bed - 3:30pm - 9:00pm

Candidates who have restrictions and could only work one shift a weekend are more than welcome within the team.
