Home for a brief visit and some further TLC, our sponsored vehicle returned to Aberdeen today for an annual service at Shirlaw's

The team from Shirlaws have been working in partnership with the Co-Responders at RAF Lossiemouth and Scottish Ambulance Service Community Resilience team for almost 3 years now, or even longer if you look back to the SAS Wildcat days. During that time they have ensured that both the cars we've had to get us to our patients are always in the best condition. Without them... it isn't possible.

It would be a long list to name them all, but thanks to Mark, Chris, Keith, Rory, Liam and all of the team at Shirlaw's. We look forward to working with you for years to come.

And... they have some pretty good deals on motorbikes too!!

Two of our team had the privilege of meeting HM The King during his recent visit to RAF Lossiemouth.

During the brief interaction Gav and Becca spoke to His Majesty about how the team of military volunteers, in partnership with Scottish Ambulance Service and Shirlaw's Ltd, support members of the local community when they dial 999/111 in an emergency.

There is a lot of time and dedication from the team that goes into maintaining this service and it is thanks to the volunteers, and organisations that support us, that we can do what we do, when the community needs it.

At the weekend, our staff, students from Robert Gordon University volunteers from RAF Lossiemouth Co-Responders, and Buckie Wildcat Community First Responders came together to attend the Moray Blue Light Festival and inform the community on their work, including tours of the ambulance and CPR demonstrations.

Talk about an awesome evening...

Last night Lee and Mike took the newly decorated Kia 'back home' to Shirlaw's for an evening with HRC - Honda Racing Corporation motorcycle rider John McGuinness.

The event raised some money for the team through the efforts of Alex, from Redwing Media, learning very quickly to become a master auctioneer! A signed book and print of John in action raised over £500 with the final total to be announced in the coming days. This money will go towards equipment for the team and allow us to keep responding to 999/111 calls on behalf of Scottish Ambulance Service.

RAF Lossiemouth Co-Responders are extremely grateful to Mark, the team at Shirlaws Honda Aberdeen (and Hrafn) for hosting such an informative evening and agreeing to raise money on our behalf. Without their continued support, and that of those listed below, we wouldn't be able to do what we do.

We'd especially like to thank John and wish him every success for the 2025 season.

Good evening Moray!

RAF Lossiemouth Co-Responders are on duty again this evening. Lee and Mike are currently on standby in the east of our area towards Buckie ready to assist Scottish Ambulance Service. Should they be dispatched to an emergency call they can hopefully get to the patient in good time, and that's down to the Kia Ceed sponsored by Shirlaw's of Aberdeen.

The car is clean, the kit has been checked, we are standing by if you need us.
