A common belief is: “If the image looks fine, the equipment must be fine.”
In reality, many faults:
• Develop gradually so are not immediately ob
• Don’t cause obvious image failure
• Are masked by clinical presets
Ultrasound quality assurance helps to make the invisible, visible and it’s why ultrasound QA is requirement set out by BMUS, SCoR, IPEM, AIUM and EFSUMB.
This is also where digital QA tools like Multi-Mode begin to help — by making QA findings easier to capture, track and review over time.
