The Lonsdale Mews team has won two awards at the annual Care UK Star Awards!🎉
Lisa Rowan was nominated for Team Leader of the Year, and our home was nominated for Local Reputation - we are absolutely delighted to announce that we have won both categories! 👏
The icing on the cake has also been retaining our place as one of the Top 20 Care Homes in the East Midlands, and maintaining the maximum score of 10 on carehome.co.uk, since opening almost six years ago. What an achievement!
We feel so lucky to have such a dedicated team who go above and beyond every day, and who continue to build strong relationships within our local community 🩷

The whole home was buzzing with excitement as we cheered on our horses from all the lounges and the café, and celebrated the winner I Am Maximus! 🤗

Our Friendship Cafe opens its doors to our older community on the second Friday of every month, where you can enjoy a tempting selection of delicious cakes and a superb choice of cappuccinos, lattes, and teas — completely free for everyone who joins us ☕️🍰
We have a lovely friendly group get together in our beautiful cafe and welcome anyone new to join us. Our wonderful volunteers are on hand to welcome you too 😊

We had a great day on Saturday, supporting the Loughborough Parkinson’s group with a fundraising event and community talk! 💙
It was a pleasure to introduce Ronald Graham, who leads the Leicester West group, and shared his personal experience of 'Living Well with Parkinson’s' and helped connect people who were newly diagnosed or looking to meet others for support. A friendly discussion followed, with lots of great questions and advice shared.
Events like this are so important for raising awareness, bringing people together and reminding everyone that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone.
Our café was also open to the community for the national 'Pies for Parkinson’s' fundraiser, with lemon meringue, key lime and black cherry pies baked by our fantastic hospitality team 😋 A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping make the day such a success 👏

Easter Sunday was such a lovely day for everyone at Lonsdale and full of Easter surprises! 🐣
Everyone got a visit from the Easter Bunny as the trolley of chocolate teats came around the home, bringing smiles, laughter and hugs of delight!🥰
We enjoyed getting together for Sunday hymns, beautiful carrot cake and hot cross buns in the cafe, and a delicious Easter tea too!

Our ladies who lunch enjoyed a wonderful afternoon trip out to Rothley Court Hotel!
We dined in a beautiful 16th-century manor house, chatted, and enjoyed one another’s company in such lovely surroundings 🥰
It was so special to be able to dress up and go out for an afternoon treat, and for some, to once again enjoy one of the pleasures we’ve always known and loved 🩷
Our Lifestyle team are so great at organising such trips, all tailored to our residents that we know so well 🥰

Our Laughtercise session with Aaron was such good fun, had us laughing out loud and having a great time! 😂
We sang along and followed the fun actions, getting us moving and having a good work-out too, whilst acting out ‘when I’m cleaning windows’ with George Formby!!
It was so great to see so many happy faces, including dogs and guests too!

April 1st was International Fun at Work Day, and we certainly did that when we welcomed Aaron, who delivered a hilarious Laughtercise team-building session for our teams 😂
Aaron brought fun, energy and a competitive spirit to our lunchbreak as teams went head-to-head in some crazy challenges that had us all laughing out loud 😂

We've been out on the mini-bus to enjoy the Spring delights at Hill Top Farm! 🌼
What a lovely day out we had looking at the sheep, lambs, donkeys and spring flowers everywhere 🐑
No trip is complete without enjoying a visit to the cafe where we were treated to drinks and plum cake....and also a good sing-song on the mini-bus back home to Lonsdale 💛

Lonsdale Mews is a brand new care home that will open in September 2020. Located on Farley Way, on the outskirts of the village of Quorn, with beauty spots of Swithland Woods and Bradgate Park close by and only a few minutes from the centre of Loughborough and close to junction 23 of the M1. Our new care home has 64 rooms and will provide completely personalised residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short-term (respite) basis. Our skilled team will get to know your loved one’s needs, interests and preferences so that we can shape all aspects of their care and experiences at the home to suit them.
Relax in beautiful surroundings
The emphasis at Lonsdale Mews will be on enabling your loved one to continue to enjoy a wonderful lifestyle. The home will have its own cinema room, hair and beauty salon; plus an inviting café where residents and visitors will be free to help themselves to a freshly brewed coffee or speciality tea, as well as a slice of homemade cake. Each of the bedrooms will be individually-styled and beautifully furnished, with an en-suite wet room. Your loved one will be welcome to personalise their room, and, if they enjoy access to an outside space, our ground floor rooms will open onto their own patios.
Meaningful activity every day
Your loved one will be supported to continuing doing all the things they love, from gardening to baking, quizzes to music, gentle exercise to regular outings. We believe in supporting people to be as independent as possible, so if your loved one wishes to help around the home or to continue going to a church or group in the local community; we’ll support them too. Of course, they may just want to enjoy a film in the cinema, or a pamper session in the salon - we’ll respect their choices and give them our full support.
