What a fantastic start to our first ever Gents vs Ladies Quiz ! 🎉
Led by our brilliant Quiz Master Martin, one of our wonderful family members, the big question was: “Do you know your sports?” 🤔
To keep things fair, the gents recruited a few of our brainy ladies to keep the teams even .. and they only went and won the trophy! It’s now proudly on display in the Millstone Café! 👏🏆
Will the gents manage to hold onto their title by the end of March? We’ll soon find out… until the next round!

With plenty of horse racing enthusiasts among us, things got seriously competitive as we warmed up for race season! 🐎
We placed our bets, and cheered our runners all the way down the home straight; Two Left Hooves, Ants in Your Pants, Nose Bag and other hilarious names to make us laugh. It was neck and neck at times, which got the cafe full of excitement! 🤗
A huge well done to our winner, who was truly on form and romped home to claim the winnings! 🏆

You can’t beat a good Saturday morning singalong, and thanks to Roger, we did just that!
It was non-stop music memories, as we reminisced and sang along to so many favourite tunes. We certainly “packed up our troubles in an old kit-bag and smiled, smiled, smiled!”
Everyone had their feet tapping and smiles were all around. Alongside tea, coffee, and cake, what better way to spend a relaxed and enjoyable Saturday morning?

Pancake Day at Lonsdale was more than just a treat! 💛
Serving up Lucy’s freshly made, hot pancakes, Sally made her way around the home with her wonderful treat trolley, offering everyone a personal visit and a choice of delicious toppings to make their pancakes just right 💛
It’s a tradition filled with happy memories, and one we all look forward to sharing year after year. 💛

Love is in the air at Lonsdale this Valentine’s Day 💕
It was a wonderful day, with special messages of love from our Valentine’s tree delivered throughout the home, and a delightful afternoon of music and song in the Millstone Café 💕
We were delighted to welcome Charlotte on saxophone, who played so beautifully and had us all singing along with friends and family, to timeless love songs we know and cherish 💕
As we enjoyed a little sherry, wine or juice, there was some extra entertainment from Sally too, with one of her outstanding themed costumes from her extensive wardrobe department! 💕
It was a very special time for our couples too, who enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea lovingly prepared and presented by Lucy, our Head Chef 💕
We love creating these special moments, bringing smiles and making lovely memories for everyone 💕

The ladies from our Swithland suite enjoyed a lovely trip out on the mini-bus last week to Rowena’s Garden Centre! 🌸
It was a wonderful afternoon spent with friends, browsing Valentine’s gifts, smelling beautiful bath bombs, meeting a rather impressive elephant, and finishing the day with tea and delicious lemon drizzle cake 🥰
It was nice to be out doing something we always remember and having a good time together with lots to chat about! 🥰

We had a fabulous water colour session with Sam from Sparks Art UK - just look at these impressive pieces of art!
Well done everyone! 👏

We’ve had such a lovely few days getting ready for Valentine’s Day, filled with creativity, plenty of laughter and chat!
During our Valentine’s craft session, we shared (and laughed out loud) about our young Valentine’s memories, while making some beautiful decorations for our Valentine’s tree — now proudly displayed in our café.
Visitors are warmly invited to pick up a heart and leave a special message for their loved one… how sweet ❤️
Sally had us all in discussion too, as we talked about 'all things February', remembering nostalgic moments in history!

What a heart-warming experience for everyone when the Lonsdale Theatre Club welcomed the children from Thrussington Primary School to celebrate National Storytelling Week !📖
To mark Beatrix Potter’s 160th anniversary year, we chose a Peter Rabbit tale, the Three Little Bunnies 🐰🐰🐰
Arriving in their handmade bunny ears, the children enjoyed a wonderful storytelling session brought to life by our very own theatre club members, complete with puppetry! There was lots of fun with singing, dancing and poetry from the children too 🥰
The children were gifted hand-knitted bunnies made by our theatre club members, activity packs to enjoy with the residents, and even stayed for lunch. What a truly delightful morning for everyone! 🐰🐰🐰

Our stunning new care home in Quorn will provide a range of quality care services for older people in luxurious surroundings.
Lonsdale Mews is a brand new care home that will open in September 2020. Located on Farley Way, on the outskirts of the village of Quorn, with beauty spots of Swithland Woods and Bradgate Park close by and only a few minutes from the centre of Loughborough and close to junction 23 of the M1. Our new care home has 64 rooms and will provide completely personalised residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short-term (respite) basis. Our skilled team will get to know your loved one’s needs, interests and preferences so that we can shape all aspects of their care and experiences at the home to suit them.
Relax in beautiful surroundings
The emphasis at Lonsdale Mews will be on enabling your loved one to continue to enjoy a wonderful lifestyle. The home will have its own cinema room, hair and beauty salon; plus an inviting café where residents and visitors will be free to help themselves to a freshly brewed coffee or speciality tea, as well as a slice of homemade cake. Each of the bedrooms will be individually-styled and beautifully furnished, with an en-suite wet room. Your loved one will be welcome to personalise their room, and, if they enjoy access to an outside space, our ground floor rooms will open onto their own patios.
Meaningful activity every day
Your loved one will be supported to continuing doing all the things they love, from gardening to baking, quizzes to music, gentle exercise to regular outings. We believe in supporting people to be as independent as possible, so if your loved one wishes to help around the home or to continue going to a church or group in the local community; we’ll support them too. Of course, they may just want to enjoy a film in the cinema, or a pamper session in the salon - we’ll respect their choices and give them our full support.
