LT Sports Therapy

LT Sports Therapy I started my journey after qualifying as a VTCT Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist in 2016.

Loughborough based sports therapist, offering sports injury advice and rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy, fire-cupping, acupuncture, kinesiology taping, pregnancy massage and manual lymphatic drainage massage. I soon realised that this was my passion and went on to study a degree in Sport and Exercise therapy, qualifying as a Sports Therapist in 2022. I am passionate about musculoskeletal injuries and how the body repairs itself with manual therapy, exercise and nutrition aiding this process. Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. As a Sports Therapist I have the knowledge, skills and ability to:

- utilise sports and exercise principles to optimise performance, preparation and injury prevention programmes
- provide the immediate care of injuries and basic life support in a recreational, training, occupational & competitive environment
- assess, treat, rehabilitate and, where and if appropriate, refer on for specialist advice and intervention.
- provide appropriate soft tissue interventions in a sport & exercise context
plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation and return to training/work programmes

I have worked with elite athletes, attended sporting events and provided pre and post sports massage and provided pitch-side first aid at rugby matches. My services include:
- sports injury advice/treatment
- sports massage
- soft tissue therapy
- fire-cupping
- acupuncture for sports injuries
- kinesiology taping and sport taping
- pregnancy massage
- manual lymphatic drainage massage

Osteoarthritis of the knee is a progressive joint condition causing pain, stiffness, and swelling as the protective cartilage between the thigh and shin bones wears away, leading to bone changes, inflammation, and reduced movement.
Common symptoms include pain with activity, stiffness after rest, joint instability, and a grinding or creaking sound in the knee. Management strategies often focus on exercise to strengthen surrounding muscles and improve flexibility, weight management, and potentially medical interventions like physical therapy or pain relievers to alleviate symptoms.
If joint pain or stiffness is affecting your life, I’m here to help. With a wealth of experience in pre operative and post operative rehab please contact me to see how I can help you get back to doing the things you enjoy.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage technique that stimulates the lymphatic system to help drain excess fluid and remove excess waste from the body.
MLD is recommended for lymphoedema, helping to manage swelling after surgery or injury. It is also beneficial for some skin disorders, headaches, digestive issues and is also used alongside weight loss and liposuction.

Acupuncture for right mid thoracic and upper traps. This client has been holding a lot of tension in these areas and has found it challenging to relax and switch off.
We tried acupuncture during our session as it has shown to induce local and general relaxation, promote general well-being whilst facilitating the healing process. The client reported they felt relaxed post treatment and had overcome their needle phobia.

Fire cupping is an alternative, noninvasive treatment technique using special cups placed on the skin to encourage blood flow to damaged areas.
This unique therapy is often recommended to patients who suffer from muscular pain, joint pain, skin problems, and/or respiratory disorders, including:
- Asthma
- Long covid
- Headaches / migraines
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Sciatica
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Tennis Elbow
- Fibromyalgia
- Frozen Shoulder
Fire cupping lifts up and releases fascia and structures to improve blood flow, aid relaxation and balances the whole body.
