a. We provide a number of services depending on your needs, this may be to lose that extra bit of weight, increase your fitness, rehabilitate from an illness or injury or even to learn a new skill. With our main area being functional fitness, we will help to reduce injuries and improve performance. This could be within a sporting context or just simply to improve your day to day life. Our sessions can be led in your home or outside depending on your preference as we look to escape the gym. All sessions are varied and fun to make your targets that bit easier to achieve. The areas we focus on are:

Stronger than ever — 15kg down after a hip replacement.

The priority was always getting Dawn back on her feet and recovering well from surgery. But as her strength training progressed, we also focused on improving her relative strength by reducing body fat.

We tightened up her nutrition — increasing protein to support muscle repair and recovery, while managing calories to drive steady fat loss.

Four months on, Dawn is over two stone down, and her movement and strength are improving week by week.

Holding onto muscle becomes harder as we age — and that often means the hobbies we love start to feel more difficult, and less enjoyable, over time.

To stay strong, capable, and doing what you love, focus on two key habits:
1. Resistance training – the most effective way to build and maintain muscle, helping offset age-related decline.

2. Higher protein intake – aim for at least 0.4g of protein per kg of bodyweight per meal to support muscle repair and growth.

Combine these consistently, and you’ll maintain better strength and mobility as you age — so you can keep enjoying life now, and well into the future.

Here at Chris Mears Health & Fitness, we start with your individual needs and goals, whether that’s toning up, weight loss, injury rehabilitation or training for a specific event or sporting challenge.

We follow up with a personalised training programme, some expert advice and lots of support and encouragement. We definitely keep clients accountable, but do it with a smile!

With our programmes and services, you won’t find any short cuts or bad science. Instead, you’ll learn about your body, form new habits and, most importantly, have fun.
