🦆 The 2026 Wymeswold Duck Race: Planning is Underway! 🦆

The ducks are waking up from hibernation, and we are already busy behind the scenes planning this year's event on the River Mantle!

To make the 2026 race the best one yet, we are looking for a little help from our amazing community.

1. SOUND & PA SYSTEM 🎤
We are looking for a local expert with PA/Sound equipment who can help us ensure everything is heard loud and clear on the day. If you have the kit or just the know-how, please drop us a message!

2. LIVE ENTERTAINMENT 🎸
We are looking to book local musicians, bands, or entertainers to help keep the atmosphere buzzing. If you are a gigging musician or have a set list ready to go, we would love to hear from you.

3. YOUR IDEAS 💡
This is your village day. Is there something fresh you would love to see this year? A new stall idea? A specific food option? Let us know in the comments!

WYMESWOLD VILLAGE PROJECT FUND GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN🦆

The Duck Race Committee are delighted to announce that we are able to offer a grant of up to £300 due to the success of this year's Duck Races. We'd like to thank everyone that helps make it happen and to everyone that came along to support the day. These grants are as a result of the profits raised on the betting races, BBQ, stalls and games.

Applications are invited from properly-constituted community and voluntary groups for activities not conducted for profit. Grants should be towards a new initiative or project (rather than general running costs) and there should be an identifiable benefit to people residing in the parish of Wymeswold.
The organisation or project must be based in the Parish of Wymeswold or carry out activities (other than fund-raising) within the Parish.
To help us assess your application, please complete this form to give us more information about your organisation and your project.
The final date for grant applications is 30th June 2025, and the Awards Panel meets in mid-July to consider the applications.🦆🦆

Big Thank you to all that ran the waddle, those who completed the fun run, ran the Tough Ducker course, those who simply ate burgers or drank a couple of pints and those big gamblers betting on the ducks….. all the proceeds will go to local Wymeswold charities/groups!

And finally a big thank you to our performers, Luke’s team at the windmill, all the volunteers, Jonny & David on comms! A wonderful village day to kick-start the summer!

Would you like to be entered as our 'guest business duck' in the Business Race at this years Duck Race?

The cost is £30 to sponsor the duck (or more if you wish). We will pull a name out of a hat on Friday evening so all entries need to be in by Friday morning.
Please reply to this message or DM the name of yourself and your business. The sponsorship goes directly to the Village Project Fund which helps all our local charities and clubs.

The Duck Races : Sunday 4th May 12-5pm
Business Race : 4.15pm approx
Location: The Brook on Brook Street

Please come along and cheer your duck on. Other entries are The Windmill Inn, The Three Crowns, The Hammer & Pincers, Granvilles!

Only a week away until our Ducks reappear for Wymeswold Duck Races 2025….🦆🦆🦆

For many years now our good friend of Wymeswold, Vic Lorrimen has arranged with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight organisation a visit from one of their many wonderful WWII aircraft. This year is no exception and weather permitting we have a visit from one of their Spitfires (roughly 2.58PM Duck Time!).

For children (and all us older children at heart) we thought you would like to see the Spitfire ahead of time and learn more about their stories….
