As you all know by now I have had the privileged to work with Invictus UK team again. This year I have been lucky enough to be selected as the UK teamβs soft tissue therapist. This weekend is the end of their training camps and the six months of working together. The next time we will all be together is next in Canada for the games!! π¨π¦ π π₯³π€©
I can not begin to explain the honour that I feel not only in having been selected but also to be able to work with these amazing individuals in their own very special recovery journeys. It is utterly remarkable to watch the competitors discover and develop physical and mental skills to help them over come their own individual challenges. The hard work the individuals and staff put in to assist with their unique journeys to become the best new version of themselves, is not one to be underestimated. Itβs is often relentless, emotional, and exhausting but the results are worth every bit of it!!
All of this however is made so much easier by the οΏΌhumour, laughter, sense of team and camaraderie that the military seem to do everything with. π
This final pre camp training where the competitors took on other teams in competition, was just testament to how far they have all come. It was utterly inspirational. ππ€©
I have also worked with the most amazing team over the last six months! The medical staff and RBL staff have been truely wonderful to work with. A real dream team!! π πͺ
And now onto the Games!!
Go Team UK!!! π¬π§ πππ£π»β·οΈπ¦Ύπ¦Ώπ¦½πππππΌββοΈπ₯
