Service Overview:
Briarvale, we have 10 bedrooms with a mix of en-suite and shared bathrooms. There is a large communal kitchen, dining room and living room. There is also a second kitchen where we support individuals to learn daily living skills. We support people to live as independently as possible and our aim is to learn new life skills to enable them to move on to living in the community in their own home.

What is the role?
Support Worker – Shepshed - £8.91

• Support the people we support to live their lives to the fullest

• Using the training provided, aid the people we support through all aspect of life including mealtimes, bathing and day to day activities.

• By getting to know the people we support you will be able to help write their care plans and understand when risk assessments may be needed.

• Be there to assist the people we support in daily activities, social interactions, and outings either in a group setting or on a 121 basis.

• Assist the people we support with their health needs as required, which may include administering medication and attending medical appointments.

• Keep daily paperwork up to date to ensure we have captured everything that has happened in the day

• You will work positively with colleagues, families, and external organisations to assist with supporting our residents.

Who were looking for:

• Our Senior support workers must be kind, compassionate and genuinely enthusiastic about the care and wellbeing of our service users

• Our Senior support workers must be confident in managing a care team

• Our Senior support workers MUST be reliable and flexible

• 2/3 years previous care experience

• NVQ qualified to level 2/3

• Have experience administering medication and leading a shift

• Complete documentation to a high standard and review/write care plans

Please note, You will have to evidence that you have received at least your first COVID-19 vaccination and that you have your second vaccination booked before you can commence your employment with Valorum Care Group.

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 19th March and this year it’s never felt more important to have some fun and raise awareness of people living incredibly tough lives. We need the power of funny to turn laughs into lasting change. In that spirit we want all our services to have a laugh and compete in a fancy dress competition!
There will be prizes for the best dressed staff member and client so get planning those outfits, the funnier, the better!

Can you see yourself or a loved one in this video? We have a new Cream Tea Party video featuring all the service pictures from across all brands. It is clear to see everyone had a lovely time and will be excited to attempt to break the world record again this Summer for the Cream Tea Party.

As many of you were aware, last Wednesday, we hosted a Guinness World Record attempt at the ‘Largest Cream Tea Party’. Unfortunately we weren’t able to break the world record, however, we will be trying again in Summer. Some residents described the cream tea party as “nice and very well made” so thought to share some service pictures. Just wanted to say a big Thank You to all the services that took part, we hope you loved the cream tea party and hopefully we can beat the record in the Summer!
