Hope you are all having a good weekend 👍

Have you checked in with this weeks newsletter ?

This week as I am still focusing on ‘wintering’ and what that can mean in terms of our physical and mental health.

The exercise of the week is a short sequence from the archives of JTP focusing on slowing things down, breath, gentle movement and resetting the mind and body — laying foundations for what is to come.

Your whole self is all about the foundations for new seasons. Recognising that although everything above the ground maybe slowing down and silent, there are foundations being laid down for a new year. And by nourishing ourselves now we are preparing for what comes next.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and give yourself permission to gather, to rest and trust that we are redirecting our energy so we can grow stronger and move forwards.

When I had short hair … finishing the London Marathon (44262) this was the beginning of my Pilates journey when my life changed.

I had already done my Pilates teacher training, running the London Marathon was the catalyst that gave me the confidence to start Jane Thomas Pilates …

I had knee surgery the same year — see the strapping — and Pilates was part of my recovery.

I’ve never looked back or regretted it … have you got a moment in your life that you felt changed everything? I’d love to hear it 🧡🧡🧡

As we head into a new week, I’m reflecting on my chosen theme of ‘wintering’.

So far we have considered
- Honouring rest and recognising what that might look like for is right now

- Reflection and looking inwards, developing awareness of lessons learned from previous months that we can carry forward

- Nurturing with small acts of care that can become nourishing rituals to gift ourselves as we move through the week

And although it’s still early days in this winter, we can start to think about preparing for growth and laying some quiet foundations to carry us through.

So let’s use this time to dream, plan gently, and plant seeds for our future growth.

Have a great week, keep moving, looking and feeling good. 🧡🧡🧡

Hi everyone, happy feel
good Friday 🧡

As we head into the weekend I hope you enjoy my weekly newsletter which will drop into your inbox on Sunday.

As this month we are looking at ‘Wintering’ this week’s focus is the importance of Nurturing, and the small
acts of care we can turn into daily rituals.

Looking after our bodies, our minds, and our spirits in small, consistent ways.

Here are some nurturing acts that can be made into little rituals — of movement, of stillness, of listening — and think of them as lanterns lighting the way through the darker days, reminding us that self-care isn’t selfish, its fuel and a sign of strength.

To help you honour nurturing I have also linked the exercise of the week to guide you with some movement to get your started.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone, and I’ll see you soon 🧡🧡🧡

Listen up everyone 👍

Firstly thank you for all your lovely, kind messages wishing me well and wishing me to heal quickly, I really appreciate it and it definitely helps me.

Secondly, I might not be able to join you live this week, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do Pilates with me.

I’ve selected some recorded classes from the archives and timetabled the links.

Finally keep the motivation to move going, because I will be back soon and I want to see what you’ve all been doing and knowing that you are all continuing with your Pilates practice is the best medicine for me.

👏👍🧡

In the mid-90s I found and fell in love with Pilates.

I was facing a few challenges in my life, knee surgery, potentially a change in lifestyle and career, and after attending a Fitness convention and participating in Pilates sessions I had a light bulb 💡 moment.

My mind and body came together and it felt like I had found my path.

After doing my initial training to teach in 1999, I started on my ‘journey’ as a Pilates teacher. I’ve invested in and loved every day being a school day, learning and growing as I continue to study so I can give more.

However Pilates has been so much more than a career in teaching and keeping people moving. Pilates has brought hundreds of people into my life, inspirational people, who have given me joy, and to watch as they start to get stronger, more flexible and achieve what they want to achieve, live the life they want to live, staying healthy and active, has been a privilege.

So today, I am taking time to reflect on and celebrate everyone who has been or continues to be a JTPer, I am truly grateful.

Happy Tuesday everyone 🙏🧡

We are honouring rest this week in JTP.

It’s that time of year when nature starts to slow down, and we can also pause to recharge our batteries and create space for quiet.

Honouring rest isn’t laziness — it’s an essential part of our wellbeing.

It can look differently to all of us , whether it’s an early night, taking a mindful walk, or simply sitting with a cup of tea in silence, rest is like the soil in which new growth will eventually take root.

What does rest look like for you right now? Think about where you could give yourself permission to pause?

Hey JTPers … it’s time for a short break from classes for me and the team … online classes will return Monday 27th October and face to face return week commencing 3rd November, apart from a few exceptions (check the class calendar for all information).

I hope you get a chance to catch up with this week’s newsletter which focuses on celebrating every single day and the benefits to our mental wellbeing this can bring — living with a smile feels lighter, brighter and more natural.

Plus in the exercise of the week I am celebrating balance with 3 exercises that will serve you well.

See you back in class soon, and in the meantime keeeeeeep moving !!!!

🧡🧡🧡
