Another sign that Pilates is more than movement and physical exercise is when at the end of my kick start xtra class on Wednesday, someone said ‘ooh that went so quickly, was it really 30 minutes?’

I think it’s great when someone completely loses track of time in class.

One minute you’re settling in, the next you’re stretching it out at the end thinking ‘wow have we finished already?’

It tells me that you’ve hit the magic spot where body and mind are fully involved. When this happens worries quietly slip out the side door, and you’ve given yourself permission to just be right there.

No rushing, no multitasking, no mental to-do list waving at you.
It’s not about the clock. It’s about being so connected to your movement and breath that time decides to behave itself for once. And honestly, in a busy world, that little time warp is a gift.

If your class ever feels like it went too quickly, take it as a very good sign. Your nervous system will thank you later.

Good morning I hope you are enjoying your weekend … maybe a lovely Sunday morning lie in, no alarm 😁

One of my favourite things to do on a Sunday morning is reading a good book with a cuppa in bed. It feels like a lovely way to start the day, setting the right tone, rather than rushing and having to meet a timetable.

Have you ever been in a position after illness or injury where you know you want to get your body moving but your mind is stopping you, through fear or not knowing what to do or which way to turn?

Well Pilates could be a great starting point, a foundation to get your body moving again.

Here in JTP our January classes are focusing on building good foundations. Gentle strength, creating better posture, freedom of movement and that lovely mind–body connection that helps everything feel a bit more manageable, and that lovely feeling of being more at home in your body.

When we slow things down and focus on quality rather than quantity, something magical happens. You start to feel the work rather than just getting through it. Muscles switch on more intelligently. Movements make sense.

You can try any of our online classes for free at anytime, or if you prefer an in person class you can have a free taster just message us for details of availability.

Pilates could be the start of building confidence again in the way you move and how you feel, and then your body starts to trust you again.

Well here we are, a new year, a new you, faster, harder, a chance to transform your life in 7 days!!!

Ooh … are you like me and sometimes feel like January is shouting at me?

January can certainly feel a bit heavy sometimes. After the highs of Christmas and New year it can leave us feeling low in energy, and yet January can come with big expectations and lots of noise.

That’s why JTP Pilates this month is about coming back to basics — moving well, breathing deeply and reconnecting with your body in a calm, supportive space.

No gimmicks. No pressure. Just steady movement, friendly faces and a shared hour of doing something good for ourselves.

You don’t have to be anything other than who and what you already are.

So it may be cold and icy out there but we started the week off with our kick start session staying warm and cozy in the comfort of our own homes.

The recording is now available to repeat or try out for the first time … a full standing routine to mobilise and engage.

We are back in class this week … obviously the weather could affect our in person classes, so if we have to cancel we will notify you ASAP. If in doubt check your phone for text messages. We will only message if we cancel.

I’d like to thank everyone who has been there to support JTP … everyone who is part of the JTP family.
