🌻 Home Birth 🌻

Homebirth isn’t about being a certain type of person, or ticking the “low-risk” box someone else decides for you. It’s simply one of the places you can give birth - and for some people, it’s where they feel safest.

For others? The idea of homebirth brings up images of chaos, panic, or a smoke alarm going off purely for dramatic effect.
That’s normal too.

I’m not here to convert you, convince you, or join the “homebirth is the only enlightened path” club. I’m here to offer clear, calm, pressure-free information so you can figure out what actually feels right for you.

Curious, unsure, terrified, “absolutely not”, or somewhere in the mushy middle - it all belongs.
And you deserve support that meets you where you are.

🌻 The Bronze One 🌻

Happy 8th wedding anniversary to the love of my life.
No exaggeration, no words taken lightly - this man is everything to me.

27 years of friendship. 27 years of the best friendship.
That’s a lot of drunk nights, questionable decisions and the most amount of fun 😆

My 11-year-old self’s crush (okay, obsession 😆).
The most wonderful father to our children.
The person who’s been beside me through the hardest, most traumatic times - whose support has never wavered.
The voice of reason reminding me to keep going when I’ve (more than once) wondered if doula-ing was really for me.

I said it last year, but it’s still true:
Lewis…a lifetime will never be long enough 🫶🏼

P.S. Sorry for catfishing you into thinking I was a sane person 😆 After all these years, you know I’m a full-on work in progress - and always will be 💖

Every course I take is self-funded - because investing in me and my learning also means investing in the families I support 💛

I like understanding why things work the way they do…and how to help people feel more confident, informed + supported in birth.

And my study notes may smell faintly of lavender 💜

Pregnancy and postpartum can be beautiful - and they can be brutal. Often times both at once.

If you’ve felt low, anxious, or not quite yourself…you’re not alone. Asking for help isn’t weakness - it’s wisdom 💛

🌻 Half term home-birth 🌻

Checking on the pizza at 1am…because birth work is nothing if not glamorous 🍕✨

Somewhere between the pizza timer going off and the first birdsong, a baby arrived.

A night full of strength, connection, laughter, and awe - total warrior energy from Mumma. Watching this couple work together - to bring their baby earth-side - the teamwork 🤌🏻

I drove home as the sun came up, tired to my bones, heart absolutely full…and promptly found out I’d been locked out of the house by my husband.

All in a night’s work 🫶🏼

🌻 Life is life-ing 🌻

Just popping in before half term descends! I’m quiet, and will be over the next week or so…life’s been life-ing, and I’m taking my own advice about pausing when things feel full.

Still very much around (and always contactable), just with fewer posts and slightly more tea 😏

🌻 On-Call Mode: Re-Activated 🌻

Phone? Glued to me.
Bag? Packed (snacks feature HEAVILY).
Plans? Fragile at best.
Sleep? The lightest of varieties.

Being on-call isn’t glamorous (unless you count showing up at 2 a.m. smelling faintly of crisps and determination) - but it is about being steady, ready, and all-in when a baby decides it’s go time 💪🏻💛

🌻 Diary Update 🌻

Yes, this is a holiday snap. Yes, I am shamelessly using it because the algo likes my face more than a Canva graphic 🤷‍♀️🙃

Anyway, back to actual business 👉 I only open a maximum of two spaces per month for in-person birth and postnatal support. That way, families get the attention they deserve (and I don’t end up running on crisps and vibes alone).

Here’s what’s open for the rest of 2025 and into early 2026…

🌻 No pain, no gain 🌻

We’ll happily crawl through leg day and clap for marathon runners in agony…
…but birth pain? Cue the horror soundtrack.

Plot twist…pain in labour is NORMAL.
It’s your body doing exactly what it needs to - working like a badass to get your baby earthside.

Understanding why it happens makes it way less scary. And yes, if something feels off, trust your instincts. But for the most part?
That pain = power.
That pain = progress.
That pain = you absolutely rocking it.

So maybe we need to stop treating birth pain like it’s a villain, and start seeing it for what it is: part of the process, not the enemy.

P.S. I’d pick contractions over burpees any day 😰
