✨ Time to Fall Back ✨
This Sunday, the clocks go back — giving us the gift of an extra hour.

Instead of rushing through it, what if you breathed through it?
Take that hour not to “do” more, but to be more.

🕯️ Slow down.
🌿 Light a candle.
💨 Take a deep, conscious breath in through the nose… and a long, soft exhale out.

Let this time shift remind you:
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to receive time instead of constantly chasing it.

As the days grow shorter, this is the perfect moment to turn inward — to reconnect with your body, your breath, and your own inner rhythm.

Your nervous system doesn’t run on clocks.

Why trauma lives in the body
• Trauma isn’t just a memory in the mind—it often gets stored in the nervous system and tissues of the body.
• Breath is one of the fastest ways to access the nervous system. When someone’s in survival mode (fight/flight/freeze), their breath becomes shallow, held, or irregular.

How breathwork helps with trauma
• Regulation: Breathwork helps shift people out of survival responses into calmer, safer states.
• Release: Certain techniques can allow suppressed emotions to surface and move out of the body.
• Integration: By gently meeting what arises in the body with the breath, people can start to process and integrate what once felt overwhelming.

Your breath does so much quietly in the background—until it slips into survival mode. That’s when you start feeling tense, snappy, or flat without really knowing why.

The beautiful thing? You don’t need to change everything to feel lighter. Just shift the rhythm.
Breathe in gently through your nose for 4 counts, out for 6. Let it be steady. In just a few minutes, your shoulders will soften, your body will exhale, and you’ll remember what calm feels like.

“But I’ve never had a trauma…”

I hear this all the time — “I don’t need to do Breathwork or Reiki because I haven’t had any trauma.”

Here’s the truth:
You don’t need to have lived through a huge, life-shattering event for your body and nervous system to carry the weight of unprocessed emotion.

The word “trauma” can sound heavy. It can make people think of extreme, life-threatening situations — abuse, violence, grief. And yes, those are absolutely traumas — what we might call Big T trauma.

But there’s also something called little t trauma — the more subtle, quieter experiences that can leave just as deep a mark.

Maybe no one ever listened when you spoke.
Maybe you were the “good girl” who never got to say no.
Maybe you were constantly trying to prove you were worthy of love or attention.
Maybe your parents loved you deeply — but didn’t know how to emotionally support you.

These aren’t dramatic stories. But they shape us.
They create patterns. Beliefs. Reactions.
They live in the body as tension, tightness, exhaustion, overthinking, overwhelm.

Breathwork, Reiki, and nervous system healing aren’t about “fixing trauma.”
They’re about meeting your body where it is.
Letting go of what you’ve unknowingly held for years.
Softening. Releasing. Becoming you again.

So no — you don’t need a big trauma to begin healing.
You just need to feel something.
And that’s enough.

The traditional Reiki principles—also known as the Five Reiki Precepts or Gokai—are based on the teachings of Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki. These principles are rooted in Japanese spiritual and philosophical traditions, and they serve as ethical guidelines for living a more balanced, peaceful, and harmonious life. They’re not religious but deeply spiritual and practical.

🔹 Origin & Foundation:
• Mikao Usui developed these principles in the early 20th century as part of his overall Reiki system.
• They were inspired by Japanese Buddhist and Shinto philosophies, especially teachings about mindfulness, presence, gratitude, and ethical living.
• Usui believed that healing is not just about energy work, but also about aligning the mind and spirit with wholesome daily behavior.

🔹 The Five Principles (in Japanese & English):

Kyo dake wa – Just for today
Okoru na – Do not be angry
Shinpai suna – Do not worry
Kansha sh*te – Be grateful
Gyo o hage me – Do your work diligently
Hito ni shinsetsu ni – Be kind to others

🔹 Philosophical Roots:
• “Just for today” echoes Zen principles: living in the present, detaching from past and future.

While Reiki is often known for hands-on energy healing, these principles form the emotional and spiritual foundation. Practicing them helps:
