✨ How to Choose an IVF Clinic ✨
Most people select an IVF clinic based on cost and location, but there are key questions you should ask to find the right fit for you.
👉🏻 You should be interviewing them. They should be grateful you want to work with them - not you grateful they have put you on their patient list!
✅ Will you treat me? – Consider factors like AMH & AFC, age, BMI, and diagnosis.
✅ Are adequate tests done first? – A tailored approach matters!
✅ What are your success rates? – Look at pregnancy & live birth rates by age, diagnosis, and donor (if using). Also ask what percentage of cycles don’t have an embryo to transfer.
✅ What are your multiple birth rates? – This affects both safety & outcomes.
✅ Are services available 7 days a week? – Bloods, scans, retrievals, and transfers.
✅ How experienced is your embryology team? – Stability & expertise are key.
✅ What new technology do you use? – Think time-lapse incubation, microbiome testing, and other innovations.
✅ What are the full costs? – Include extra tests, investigations, and medications.
✅ Where are procedures done? – Check bloods, scans, retrieval, and transfer locations.
✅ How do they manage you through the process? - Think consistent consultant for continuity, dedicated support nurse, app with medication alerts, responsiveness to questions.
✅ If the clinic also works with NHS patients, how do they differentiate care with private patients?
✅ How convenient are clinic locations? – Factor in work & home logistics.
✅ What are the waiting times? – Also, look at stimulation vs. transfer timing & appointment availability.
✅ Do they consider my long-term family goals? – Not just one baby, but your whole future.
✅ How can I improve my chances? – A holistic, personalized approach is essential.
Choosing the right IVF clinic is about more than cost and convenience—it’s about finding a team that truly understands you and your goals.
