We would love to invite all the family and the local community to join us for our annual Alzheimer’s Walk here at Woodland Grove. This is a special moment for our community to come together, support one another, and raise awareness for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s.

We’re encouraging as many residents as possible to take part in this gentle, meaningful walk. Every step we take together helps shine a light on the incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Any donations are warmly welcomed and can be made on the day.

🌍✨ Virtual Reality Travel at Woodland Grove ✨🌍

Our residents had an amazing time exploring the world through Virtual Reality this week. With 360° immersive experiences, they were able to visit beautiful places, see animals up close, enjoy waterfalls, and even wander through cities filled with memories.

What surprised us the most is how much joy it brought to residents you might not expect — especially those living with dementia. The sensory immersion and gentle stimulation made the experience truly magical for them.

Technology continues to open new doors, and we’re excited to keep working with VR to bring even more meaningful travel adventures to our residents. 💛🌈

✨ Spa Day at Woodland Grove ✨

Today we turned our home into a calming spa retreat. Residents enjoyed soothing hand massages, refreshing face masks, and manicures offered by our wonderful Lifestyles Team.

Soft aromatherapy scents, gentle music, and low lighting created a peaceful atmosphere where everyone could unwind and feel pampered. A truly relaxing afternoon for our residents 💛🌿
We will definitely do it again because there residents really enjoyed.

🌿 Green Champions Unite for Epping Forest 🌿

This week our Green Champions from Woodland Grove Care Home, Elsyng House Care Home, and Harpenden Care Home came together for a special Green Day in partnership with the Epping Forest Conservation Centre team in collaboration with Epping Forest City of London

Our teams joined forces in a local Loughton area of Epping Forest to support the health of the woodland. With guidance from the EDC team, we learned how important it is to protect and maintain our natural environment — including how certain trees need our help to thrive.

During the session, we helped remove sections of overgrown holly that were preventing other trees from growing properly. This conservation project will continue with the support of the volunteer teams, but we were proud to play a part in getting it started.

We are thank you EFC team for the opportunity to get involved and we are already looking forward to future collaborations and continuing our commitment to supporting our beautiful local forest. 🌳💚

🌟 Celebrating Our Care Home of the Year Award 🌟

On Friday we came together to celebrate an incredible milestone — being awarded Care Home of the Year. What an achievement for all of us at Woodland Grove.

We also took a special moment to thank our wonderful manager for her constant support and guidance, which helped lead us to this amazing moment.

The team enjoyed delicious food, great disco music, and of course our favourite treat — ice cream. It was a joyful evening filled with laughter, pride, and togetherness.

A huge thank you to the entire Woodland Grove Team. Your hard work, compassion, and dedication make all of this possible. This award belongs to every single one of you. 💛✨

What a fantastic celebration we had at Woodland Grove last Friday!
Our residents and team came together to mark our Care Home of the Year achievement with delicious food, great company, and a lively disco party.

The Lifestyles Team made sure everyone was up dancing, singing along to the classic disco hits, and enjoying every moment. The room was full of excitement, laughter, and pure joy — a wonderful reminder of the vibrant community spirit we share at Woodland Grove.

Yesterday we had the joy of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone — our dear resident Doris turned 103.

Doris spent her special day just the way she wanted: peacefully, comfortably, and surrounded by her lovely family and love from our Woodland Grove family. Reaching 103 is an extraordinary achievement, and we feel honoured to celebrate such a wonderful lady whose kindness, humour, and gentle presence brighten our home every day.

Oh, how we love these sunny days. Any chance to get outside for some fresh air is a gift, and our wellbeing walks have become one of the most popular activities at the moment.

Residents who fancy a gentle, healthy stroll around our neighbourhood are always welcome to join us. It’s a lovely way to stretch the legs, enjoy the sunshine, and share conversations while taking in the beauty around Woodland Grove.

🌞 A Beautiful Day at Roydon Marina

What a lovely day our residents spent at Roydon Marina. They enjoyed relaxing by the water, watching the canal boats drift by, and taking in the peaceful nature surrounding the marina.

The sunshine made the whole trip even more special, creating a calm and uplifting atmosphere where everyone could unwind, chat, and simply enjoy the moment.

It was a wonderful day out that left our residents smiling and refreshed.
