This is Athletes Foot a contagious fungal infection. Symptoms are often white soggy skin between or behind toes along with dry skin which can crack and is sometimes accompanied with small fluid filled blisters and intense itching, stinging and burning. It has a distinctive odour and can spread to nails, feet and groin area.
If the symptoms persist for 2 weeks or more, professional treatment should be sought, particularly if you have Diabetes or weakened immune system. It could develop into a bacterial infection too.
It is important to always dry feet thoroughly using a separate towel/ flannel. Ensure hosiery/socks are put on before pants. Disinfect/ wash all footwear that has been worn while the infection has been active.
Expose feet to the air as much as possible, either in open sandals or bare feet( not the latter if you are Diabetic).
