Less than three months after opening our little office and chapel of rest on Upgate in 2021, I was honoured to receive this beautiful cross from Steve Soult Limited . It now takes pride of place at our larger premises on Queen Street in Louth.
Although slightly tucked away, we’re proud to be Louth’s highest-rated family-owned and operated funeral directors — something we’ve built through compassion, care, and genuine commitment to the families we support.
The cross now rests atop a Lancaster Bomber-themed coffin inside our 1896 horse-drawn hearse — a tribute to history and remembrance.
Sadly, our original Upgate premises — a Grade II listed building — has since been vandalised by its new tenants, who removed the window frame and glass without listed building consent. It’s heartbreaking to see such heritage destroyed, but I’ll always be grateful to Neil Crossland for giving us our start there. He made it a warm, welcoming space — and in just 12 months, we supported over 70 families from that little shop.
I’ll never forget where we began. But I’m proud of where we are now — and I’m proud of my incredible team who serve with dignity and compassion every day.
Thank you to both Pauls, Paula, Mick, Phil, Stacey, Robert and my original bearer Tony and not forgetting my amazing cake baker and buffet supplier Marie Lucas
On August 11th this year, I’ll have been caring for families under my own name for four years. And this November, I’ll mark 35 years in the funeral profession.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported us — and to those who may need us in the future, we’re here when you need us most.
