I’m really excited to be running this Creative Therapy group at Imagine Louth

This is a free four week creative space for adults, inspired by Kintsugi and the idea that our cracks carry meaning rather than something to hide. We will be using simple art based reflection to explore healing, self compassion and lived experience, at your own pace.

There is no pressure to share, no need to be artistic, and nothing to fix. Just a calm, supportive space to slow down, reflect, and gently reconnect with yourself.

🧡 Thursdays 6.30 to 8.30pm
🧡 All materials provided
🧡 Limited to 10 places
🧡 Fully facilitated and completely free

If this feels like something you or someone you know might benefit from, message Imagine Louth CIC directly to book a place.

Sometimes the path disappears into the cloud and all you can do is keep walking. Back Tor looking towards Mam Tor, hidden but still there. A quiet reminder that clarity always returns when it’s ready.

My new counselling space 💛

It feels really special to share this. For the past two years I’ve been slowly building my practice, learning, growing, and putting my heart into creating something that feels meaningful.

This new room feels like such a milestone. It’s calm, warm, and welcoming, exactly the kind of space I always hoped this space would be.

Every detail has been chosen with care, and standing here now, I can really feel how far things have come.

What makes it even more exciting is the location. I’m now based within Imagine Louth CIC, who offer a magical space for children, and it feels like the perfect fit. Being here also opens up opportunities to collaborate and bring more services to the community.

In the new year, we’ll be running adult-focused creative therapy workshops that are open to everyone and completely free. It feels like we can really be part of something bigger here. A place where creativity, connection, and wellbeing come together.

Lastly Clearmind Counselling will be going through a rebrand! So watch this space!

Today marks my last day in this counselling room, the space where I first set up my private practice, and which has been my counselling home for over two years.

So many meaningful conversations, moments of healing, and quiet transformations have unfolded within these walls. It’s a space that’s held so much growth… both for my clients and for me.

But with endings come new beginnings…

From November, I’ll be moving into a new room right in the heart of Louth, a space that not only allows me to continue my one-to-one sessions, but also opens up exciting possibilities for bigger community projects and creative ventures.

I can’t wait to share photos of the new room soon and bring you along for this next chapter 💛

When you decide to begin counselling, you’re choosing to open your world to someone new. It’s a vulnerable and deeply personal step, and you deserve to know that the person sitting across from you is safe, qualified, and accountable.

That’s why I’m sharing my professional credentials, insurance, and DBS check today, not as a formality, but as a reminder that safety and ethics are the foundation of good therapeutic work.

A qualified counsellor will always be transparent about their training, their registration with a professional body, and the measures they take to protect your confidentiality and wellbeing.

Therapy should feel like a safe space, not just emotionally, but professionally too. You have every right to ask questions, check credentials, and choose someone who meets both your needs and your standards of safety.

🌻 Watching flowers fade and seasons turn can stir deep reflections. Existential therapy reminds us that we live in cycles of beginnings and endings, and that our task is not to resist them, but to find meaning as we move through them. Counselling can support you in exploring how these cycles echo in your own life.

A picture taken on Tuesday, after a walk and talk counselling session. Such a difference in weather since then!

I love walk and talk therapy because it feels so much more natural for some people. Moving side by side often makes it easier to open up than sitting face to face in a room. The fresh air and rhythm of walking can calm the nervous system, lift your mood, and help release some of the tension you’re carrying.

Sometimes the simple act of being outdoors gives space for words and feelings to flow in a way they don’t always indoors. It’s still therapy, just with the added grounding and gentleness of nature.

Anxiety is your body’s way of saying, "I don’t feel safe." It’s future-focused and can take over our thoughts, bodies, and relationships. Therapy creates space to understand its message and soothe the alarm.

There are ways to cope and these usually are finding ways to be more present in the moment.

Coping Tools:
Try 5-4-3-2-1 grounding to reconnect to the present
Use box breathing to regulate your nervous system
Challenge anxious thoughts with a balanced reframe

Protecting Your Mental Wellbeing...

Boundaries are more than just limits, they are part of the foundation of looking after our own needs. They help us stay connected to ourselves, preserve our energy, and feel emotionally safe in our relationships.

From a therapeutic view, boundary-setting is grounded in person-centred and CBT-based approaches, both of which encourage self-awareness and empower us to take responsibility for our emotional wellbeing.

Here’s how you can begin to honour your boundaries:

Name your limits: Notice when something feels too much or not enough. Resentment, anxiety, or burnout are often signs your needs are being overlooked.

Use clear, kind language: “I need some quiet time after work to recharge, can we catch up later instead?”

Say no without apology: Saying no isn’t rejection, it’s protection. It’s how we stay in alignment with ourselves.

Expect respect: When we model healthy boundaries, we give others permission to do the same.

Start small and stay consistent: Boundaries don’t have to be loud or dramatic. Quiet, consistent choices are often the most powerful.

Setting boundaries is an act of self-love. It’s a way of saying: I matter. My needs are valid. I deserve to be respected.

Feeling Isolated? You’re Not Alone.

There’ve been times at school or even with mates when we’ve felt like we didn’t really belong, or like no one would notice if we weren’t there. It’s a weird feeling, and it can mess with your head, especially if you’re going through changes, feeling anxious, or struggling with stuff you don’t feel able to say out loud.

What we’ve realised is: loads of people feel like this, but hardly anyone talks about it.

If you’re feeling like this right now, please know you're not weird or broken, you’re just human. It really does help to do one small thing, message someone, take a walk, or just say how you’re feeling. That’s how connection starts again.
We noticed that we were usually looking at it in a negative light, that we had people would would be happy to talk to us but we didn't always see it.

Cyberbullying Hurts... And It’s Okay to Speak Up

Online spaces should feel safe. But sometimes, they don’t. If you’ve ever been the target of mean comments, exclusion, or threats online, that’s cyberbullying. And it’s not okay.

We have both had experiences where we used to get DMs and comments that made us feel rubbish. It would be stuff people would never say in real life. It knocked our confidence for ages until we started telling people and got help. Speaking up helped us see that we weren't alone in this experience and talking through counselling helped us focus on improving our confidence.

Meet Ewan & Rhys – Our Guest Creators This Week!

I'm excited to introduce Ewan and Rhys, two brilliant young people joining Clearmind Counselling this week for work experience.

They’ll be taking over our social media for the next few days, creating posts that speak directly to teenagers. Ewan and Rhys have chosen some powerful topics that they know matter to people their age, from feeling isolated to navigating school stress and changing family dynamics.

We’re proud to give them this space and can’t wait to share their insights, advice, and encouragement with you all.

Stay tuned... and if you’re a teen, or someone supporting a teen, these posts are especially for you 💛
