We pushed hard this week to get ready for opening…

Long days. Big jobs. Everything nearly there.

Then torrential rain hit.

We woke up Saturday morning to find the campsite underwater 😬

Standing water across the pitches just days before opening week…

Is it money down the drain?
Will it recover in time?
Can we still open?

A proper milestone this week 🚿

£16,000 in campsite upgrades so far 😳 and this episode shows one of the biggest jobs we’ve taken on yet.

From stripping back old timber to rendering the sheds and toilet block, this one was a proper mammoth task — 3 weeks’ worth of work squeezed into just 13 days 💪🔥

Been digging today and pulled this out the ground 👀
We’re not 100% sure, but it looks like an old Victorian-era medicine or poison bottle. The thick blue glass was commonly used back then so dangerous liquids stood out and were kept away from everyday bottles.

Amazing what turns up when you start uncovering the history of the place — it really makes you think about who was here before us and what life was like all those years ago.
