Be honestโฆ did last weekโs half term feel more like a physical endurance event than a break?
Extra days out. Long walks. Carrying younger children. Sleeping in different beds. More time on your feet. It all adds up.
According to the Office for National Statistics, many UK adults already spend large portions of their working week sedentary - so when activity levels suddenly spike (theme parks, trampolining, soft playโฆ), joints and muscles can feel the difference.
Itโs a bit like going from zero to a 5k without training. The body can absolutely cope - but it may grumble afterwards.
Common post-half term complaints we see in clinic:
โ Lower back tightness
โ Neck and shoulder stiffness
โ Aching hips after long walks
โ Flare-ups of old injuries
Chiropractic care focuses on restoring comfortable joint motion, improving movement quality and helping your body adapt better to changes in activity levels.
If youโre feeling the after-effects of half term, donโt ignore it and hope it settles on its own.
Sometimes a small reset makes a big difference.
