Armed Forces Community Open Day

The aim of our Armed Forces Community Open Day is to have a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Veterans and their families to walk in, have a 'brew' and see what services are available to them (locally and nationally), plus how to access that support. Some of the services that regularly attend and provide real-time information, advice and guidance are as follows: Veterans UK, RFEA, DWP, RAFBF, Help for Heroes, Carers First, Health Watch, Op Courage (an NHS service), Connect to Support Lincolnshire, Blind Vets UK & Op Nova, to name but a few.

Timings are 10:00 to 14:00, but please note that if you arrive in the last hour, there is no guarantee that the service you want to access will still be there.

We are fundraising to install an automatic glass entrance door at James Street Surgery, making access easier and safer for everyone in our community.

Ovarian cancer affects the ovaries. It mostly affects women over 50, It can affect anyone who has ovaries, and sometimes ovarian cancer runs in families.

The ovaries are 2 small organs that store the eggs needed to make babies and produce female s*x hormones.

The symptoms of ovarian cancer, such as bloating, are not always obvious.
Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late, but early diagnosis can mean it is more treatable.

You can still get ovarian cancer if you've had your ovaries removed because it can also affect your fallopian tubes, or the lining inside your tummy (peritoneum).

Cancers of the o***y, fallopian tubes and peritoneum are often grouped together because they are similar and treated in the same way.
