This week reminded me of how deeply our bodies hold our emotions.
I received the heartbreaking news that a dear client, who over time became a friend, passed away. It’s moments like these that stop you in your tracks and make you reflect on how fragile and precious life really is. 🤍
In my treatment sessions, grief is a conversation that comes up more often than you might expect.
We laugh, we cry, we sit in silence, we breathe… and sometimes, we simply hold space for what words can’t reach.
According to Chinese Medicine, the lungs are connected to emotions such as grief, sadness and loss. When these emotions are unprocessed, they can show up physically as:
🌫 a heavy feeling in the chest
💭 panic attacks or palpitations
🌬 difficulty breathing deeply
💔 a lump in the throat
😞 an ache you can’t quite name
Reflexology doesn’t remove the pain of grief, but it can gently support the body as it moves through it — easing the tightness, calming the nervous system, and creating space for breath and tears. Each tear we shed is the body’s way of releasing overwhelm and cortisol. It is healing in motion.
If you’re navigating loss or holding emotions that feel too heavy, please know you’re not alone.
Talk. Breathe. Cry. Reach out. Take a walk. Write it down. Hug tighter. Love louder.
Life is short, and it is sacred. 💛
My door is always open.
