Recently I had the great privilege of being asked to lead a naming ceremony for a gorgeous little family. Since then I've had a few questions about naming ceremonies.

What exactly is a naming ceremony?

Think of it as a celebration of your little one’s arrival. It’s the chance to officially introduce their name, share its meaning, and surround them with love from friends and family. These ceremonies can take place anywhere that feels right to you—a cosy home, a favourite garden, a woodland space, or even a local community space. I’m based here on the East Coast of England and I can tell you that in those summer months especially the beach is a very popular location choice.

We’ll be talking very openly and honestly about what really happens when someone dies — the extremes, the everyday realities, what we witness, and how we feel. These episodes will be very raw, very honest, completely unedited, and more relevant than ever.

I hope to help folks feel less alone and let people know that your ‘not normal’ situations are more normal than you realise.

I don't think I could have said it better myself....

Yesterday was pure magic of a different sort. Whilst I adore the magic of a wedding, it was truly magical yesterday to be here leading what was a beautiful baby naming ceremony for an equally beautiful family. Not to mention the gorgeous venue we were at.

Well the venue was stunning, the weather was gorgeous and the beautiful couple absolutely wowed!😍

What a day it was yesterday. The early start to get on the road was well worth it for this couple. When they first contacted me there was a brief moment where they weren't sure if I'd travel for their special day.. but of course I said absolutely and so a road trip down to Essex was in place. I cannot express how truly honoured I was to be asked to be the celebrant for this truly special day. There were Celebrants much closer to the location that I'm sure would have done a fine job so be asked to head on over was extremely humbling.

Thank T&G for asking me and allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. A day for you to remember forever! From the bottom of my heart, what a blessing🫶🏻

Got a particularly busy few days coming up starting with a trip to Brentwood, Essex for the most fabulous couple.

Today's the big day for the gorgeous T&G and I for one am very excited! I cannot wait to share in this special moment with the two of you. What an honour it is to be asked to travel the distance just to help make your special day everything you want it to be and more. I'll see you both soon🫶🏻

As I finally stop today and take a moment to reflect on my day, it was a real privilege for me to take the service for a much loved man.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thanks to Chris and Poppy from East Coast Funerals and all the staff at Great Yarmouth Crematorium for making today's service just that little bit special. This morning we gathered as a husband, dad, grandad, brother, and friend was remembered with LFC in their hearts! We even managed some smiles and tears from the Man U fans, which says if all about this special man!
