Ok, bit of a long one this....
2016 Ford Transit booked in for a Stage 1 remap. However, we found a problem with the DPF, C.V Boot unclipped, and front brake pad wear sensor missing....
The customer bought the van from a sales company, they put a fresh mot on abut it failed on excessive smoke. He was told that the dpf had been tampered with and that they would put a new dpf on and return the van to stock. (he has a receipt to show this being done).
The customer believed the van to be underpowered, and it would smell fumey now and again. Ok π€ Transits are generally pretty nippy, there isn't a lot of weight in the back of it and she shouldn't smell of fumes. π€·ββοΈ
As always (where possible), we run a file check first. It came back as a stock tune with a DPF patch. I've then done a quick back pressure check, and it shows as badly blocked. π¬
While under there, I've also found the O/S CV Boot to have slipped off as it was done up with a cable tie and the brake pad wear sensor missing. π€¦ββοΈ
Unfortunately, the sales company he bought the van from put a DPF back on the van to get it through it's mot (2 years agao) but it hasn't then done a regen since because as far as the ecu is concerned, it hasn't got one. He's just very lucky that he only does short journeys, and we found it before it starts causing turbo and/or engine problems!
Yesterday's pre-cat lambda sensor change in Norwich on a 1.0 Ford Fiesta. :)

Following on from my last post.... Ford Fiesta Battery Clamp Repair.
- Battery replaced as the terminal was too damaged from the movement.
- A new positive cable and clamp assembly was Β£250 π¬ So we went for a repair instead.
- Cut off the OE Clamp and attach all cables to a new positive clamp.
All is now well, the customer saved around Β£200 and is back on the road with no fear of it breaking down.

Customer said the car would switch off if she hit a pot hole, she would wiggle the wires under the bonnet, and it would start. Had been to a national company for a battery check, which it passed π€
Temporarily secured the clamp and returned the next day for the repair, I'll post this shortly.
