Our Standing Ovation winner for December is ✨Ruth✨

Ruth is the Head of Housekeeping and she runs a very tight ship! Ruth was nominated for being a ‘great leader’ and a ‘proactive head of department’ who is ‘always positive’ and ‘goes above and beyond for her team’.

Congratulations to Ruth, thank you for working so hard to make Lound Hall a clean and comfortable place to live. We are lucky to have you.

Whilst the last of the snow melts in the fields around the Home, we have been keeping busy in the warm!
This week Lyn has helped the residents create a new winter wreath for the front door, the residents enjoyed a game of giant snakes and ladders and we made quiches for lunch 😋

This is our Nelly.

In February, this wonderful, feisty lady turns 100 years old 🥳
In those 100 years, Nelly has lived through World War II, Y2K and a pandemic. She has witnessed the revolutionary expansion of technology from the introduction of cars, to TVs, the moon landing and the internet. Nelly has seen 5 monarchs over 10 decades, 21 prime ministers across 2 centuries and observed social reforms like women securing the right to vote, the civil rights movement and the legalisation of same-sex marriage.
A lover of dancing, Nelly has lived through the heydays of George Formby, the Beatles and the Spice Girls.

It is impossible to grasp all the things Nelly has experienced in her lifetime but we would love to thoroughly celebrate her incredible life and to show her how amazing she is. And we need your help!

So this is an appeal to all you wonderful people out there, to please send our Nelly a birthday card to mark her becoming a centenarian 🥳

We believe that a bedroom should be a sanctuary—calm, comfortable, and full of light. From the peaceful sage greens to the bright and airy garden-view rooms, we’ve poured love into every detail to ensure our residents feel right at home from day one.

These beautiful spaces are ready and waiting for new residents to make them their own. We have new rooms coming up, so why not pick a colour your loved one likes before they move in? 🎨

⭐️Happy New Year from all of us at Lound Hall⭐️

Yesterday we celebrated in style with a picky bits buffet and mulled wine for lunch followed by our residents NYE Party where we played seasonal bingo and enjoyed some karaoke!

It may be a New Year but we have the same resolutions of providing Compassion, Empathy, Dignity, Choice and Candour.

Onto chapter 2026!

It’s been fun-filled few days at Lound Hall, as we have celebrated Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Always remembering that the joy of the season is spending time with the ones we love and we sure love our residents 🫶🏻🎄🎁🦃❤️

All of us at Lound Hall want to wish our residents, their families and friends and all of those who have supported us this year, a very Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas Crew are back in action today and to them, we would like to say thank you for giving up your family Christmas to be with our residents. You are AMAZING and we are so thankful for you ⭐️

✨The Home has been overrun with cheeky elves today who have been giving out presents, spreading joy and taking lots of (s)Elfies! ✨

Our best dressed elves were Marie MistleToes, James ‘Buddy’ Jingles and Justine Jellybeans.
