We are delighted to announce that Hadleigh Nursing Home has taken first place in our group-wide Easter cake competition, beating 43 other care homes across the country!

Hadleigh’s talented chef Dave Blanden, together with hospitality manager Michelle Bailey and the home’s wonderful residents, created a showstopping Easter masterpiece, an Easter bunny home inside a chocolate log, crowned with a giant carrot cake carrot!

Michelle, who has had her eyes on this trophy since joining Kingsley three years ago, said it was very much a team effort, with residents getting involved in the decorating.

As winners, they receive a £200 prize, which is going straight into the home’s residents' fund to help pay for extra outings and activities. A sweet victory in every sense!

A huge well done also to our runners-up, Sycamore Heights Care Home in Bedford and Timperley Nursing Home near Altrincham. The standard was incredibly high this year!

Thank you to Kingsley's judges Dee Perera and Joanne Carlyon-Blanchard for the tough job of choosing a winner.

We couldn't be prouder of our amazing teams and residents. This is a victory for everyone taking part.

The Depperhaugh Nursing Home, near Eye, in Suffolk, has been judged a Top 20 Care Home in the East of England; Branksome Heights Nursing Home, in Bournemouth, is named a Top 20 Care Home in South West England; Olney Meadows Nursing Home, in Olney, Buckinghamshire, is a Top 20 Care Home in South East England and Park Lane Care Home, in Congleton, Cheshire, is a winner in North West England.

All four care homes achieved a perfect 10 rating from accumulated reviews. 🎉

Residents at Brackley Care Home have shown that small steps can lead to a huge impact. ❤️

After joining the Accumulator Challenge set by Katharine House Hospice residents turned a £50 starter fund into an incredible £1,147.50 through creativity, teamwork and determination.

From festive raffles and handmade pine-cone decorations, to a Valentine’s hamper, a New Year table-top sale and even a sponsored walk through the home, residents put their entrepreneurial spirit to work for a cause close to their hearts.

Home Manager Stephanie Eley said she was incredibly proud of the residents’ dedication and the effort they put into every stage of the challenge.

Every pound raised will help support the vital care and compassion provided by Katharine House Hospice in the local community.
