It’s not that you don’t care.

It’s that every time it turns into a row,

you’d rather shut it down than make it worse.

So you go quiet.

Walk away.

Change the subject.

And from your side, it feels like you’re keeping the peace.

But from her side?

It feels like you don’t care at all.

That gap right there…

is where relationships start to drift.

No blame. Just a pattern.

And patterns can change—without it turning into another argument.

If this sounds familiar, you can find out more here:

Or ask yourself…

what if talking didn’t always have to end badly?

Every couple argues.

But what really damages a relationship is the pattern that follows:

One of you gets frustrated, raises your voice or reacts quickly
The other shuts down, withdraws or avoids saying how they really feel

Nothing gets resolved
And the distance between you quietly grows

Over time, it starts to feel like:
– you’re not being heard
– you’re walking on eggshells
– or you just can’t get it right no matter what you say

This isn’t about blame
And it’s not about who’s right or wrong

It’s about understanding what’s really happening in those moments
and learning how to respond differently

Because it can change

I work with couples who want to communicate without it escalating or falling apart

If that feels like your relationship, you can book via my website:

One thing many people notice is that when they finally slow down — when they’re not rushing around cleaning, working, organising, planning or “achieving” something — their mind suddenly fills with negative thoughts.

Old conversations.
Things they wish they’d done differently.
Worries about the present or future.

It can make people think:
“Maybe I’m just lazy and my mind is punishing me for it.”

But that’s not what’s actually happening.

When we’re constantly busy, our mind is occupied. There’s no spare space for deeper thoughts or emotions to surface.

Busyness can act like a kind of mental anaesthetic.

The moment things slow down, the mind finally has room to process things that have been pushed aside — sometimes for years.

And if you’ve spent a long time equating being productive with being worthwhile, stillness can feel strangely uncomfortable. The brain starts scanning for problems to solve, things to analyse, or mistakes to revisit.

Not because you’re lazy.
Not because you’re doing something wrong.

But because your mind hasn’t yet learned that it’s safe to rest.

The truth is:

Rest isn’t laziness.
Rest is what allows us to reset, process and restore ourselves.

And learning to be comfortable with stillness is something many of us have to gently relearn.

It’s so easy to get stuck staring at the problem that’s right in front of us.

We analyse it, replay it, worry about it… and before we know it, we feel completely overwhelmed.

I see this often in my coaching sessions, and honestly, I catch myself doing it too.

But real movement begins when we consciously shift our focus.

Not by pretending the problem isn’t there…
but by gently moving our attention towards the solution.

That small shift in focus can change everything.

Feeling overwhelmed? Try the 90-second reset.

This is something that comes up often in my coaching sessions.

A client might say,

“I know I’m overreacting… but I can’t stop it.”

In that moment it isn’t really about overreacting — it’s the body.

When we feel triggered, the brain releases stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Heart rate increases, breathing changes, and thoughts can start racing.

Here’s the important part:

👉 That chemical stress response lasts about 90 seconds.

If we keep replaying the story in our minds, we simply trigger the response again and again.

So the practice I often share with clients — and use myself — is very simple:

• Pause

• Slow your breathing

• Don’t feed the story

• Let the wave pass

Just 90 seconds can give the body time to settle and the mind space to regain clarity.

✨ It’s amazing what can change in just 90 seconds.

If this resonates and you’d like some support, you’re very welcome to reach out via the Contact form on my website, and I’ll reply personally.

Have you noticed how some years feel like they're about letting go... and others feel like it's finally time to move forward?

🐍 Last year was the Year of the Snake...

A time of shedding, reflecting, and understanding yourself more deeply. Many began letting go of old patterns, guilt, and relationship dynamics that no longer served them.

🐎 This year is the Year of the Horse...

A year for movement, confidence, and emotional freedom. Clearer boundaries. Stronger self-belief. Moving forward with calm courage instead of overthinking.

Less analysing... more living.

Less surviving... more thriving.

Which one feels more like your life right now... 🐍 or 🐎 ?

And if you feel ready for your own "year of the horse", that's exactly the kind of change I love helping people move towards.

🌸 On International Women’s Day, a reminder you might need today
Today isn’t just a date on the calendar.
It’s a mirror — reflecting the strength you’ve built quietly, consistently, and often without applause.
International Women’s Day celebrates achievements, yes…
but it also honours the unseen moments that shaped you:
• The boundaries you set that once felt impossible
• The dreams you kept alive even when life got loud
• The healing you chose, even when it meant letting go
• The courage you showed on days you felt anything but courageous

Here’s something we forget:
You don’t have to be unstoppable to be inspiring.

Some days, simply showing up is a win.

So today, take a breath and recognise the woman you are becoming — not because the world told you to be strong, but because you chose to rise in your own way, in your own time.

To every woman rewriting her story, reclaiming her voice, or rediscovering her worth…

I see you.

I celebrate you.

And I’m cheering for the version of you that’s still unfolding.

Happy International Women’s Day — may you continue choosing yourself, boldly and without apology. Andrea x

I love receiving texts from my clients to tell me how they are feeling about their coaching journeys with me. 🩷

Sometimes all it takes is a neutral professional, with experience and patience and a safe warm environment to start a transformational change in who you want to be and who you can be.
Some difficult life circumstances can leave us feeling lost or unsure of who we are.
You’re not broken — you’re transitioning.
In 1:1 coaching, I provide safe, grounded guidance to help you rebuild confidence, clarity, and emotional balance. Andrea x
