These cards were recommended in a counselling group.

Sometimes counselling is about getting back in touch with ourselves and our values. I'm hoping these cards can be a helpful resource for people to have some guidance on what's important to them. Giving simple ideas in how to prioritise and practice what matters most πŸ¦‹

I'll also be using them personally 😊

It grew!

I'd given up on my acorn because the shoot had gotten stuck in the glass. It was abandoned up on the high shelf for months. Did a bit of dusting and couldn't believe my eyes 😁

Just need to pot it up in the garden ready to find the perfect place to plant it πŸ’š

'A study using functional neuroimaging (fMRI) found lower activation of the brain structure that signals fear and threat (the amygdala) after a 60-minute walk in a natural environment compared to an urban environment. This finding was associated with reports of feeling β€œrestored” and having improved attention. Another fMRI study found decreased blood flow in the prefrontal cortex, which correlated with self-reports of decreased β€œrumination,” after a 90-minute nature walk compared with an urban walk. These studies are just scratching the surface; I expect much more discovery on the neural correlates of improved well-being in the next few years.'

This is just a snippet about why being in nature is SO beneficial for us, especially if we experience anxiety and depression.

Very interesting book with focus on the importance of courage, vulnerability and love.

I do think most of us are actually afraid of being loved. Being seen. May we be courageous enough to be vulnerable and gentle, with ourselves and others πŸ™‚

One of my latest reads.

It included some handy practices in the 2nd half. This book was a good reminder for me about the importance or being compassionate to myself as well as others. There are many of us who struggle with this I imagine! :)

Puzzle!

I'm not frequent jigsaw puzzle gal but I really enjoyed making this one.

The zoning in, allowing me to zone out.
The presence.
The unexplainable deliciousness of picking up a piece and somehow knowing exactly where it belongs.
The initial overwhelm at how much there is to do followed by the buzz of seeing it take shape and all come together.

Lovely lovely experience that mirrors so many things in life we go through, come up against.

Trust.
Trusting the process.
