I love this analogy! My initial interpretation of this is that we each have control over the size of the spoon in the glass, how quickly we stir it and if we even need to stir it at all.

Metaphorically speaking (and metaphors play a big part in the psychotherapy aspect of your Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions with me) our thoughts šŸ’­ govern the outcomes of what we see in front of us, and influence how we behave. Keep churning over what comes into your mind and your thoughts can become foggy, muddy and difficult to understand.

Give yourself the opportunity to be still, and take a step back from prodding and analysing the tiniest things you see in front of you.

This can be challenging and I know first hand how the cycle šŸ” of negative thinking can spiral šŸŒ€..

One thought leads to another, and another, and another, and it eats you up inside. And before you know it, you have created a major catastrophe in your head. You can’t help it.

But it doesn’t need to be this way.

And I’m officially a Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist!

I now feel at peace with myself and my mind. I’ve been able to accept who I am, embrace my ADHD nuances, raise my confidence and believe that I’m good enough.

Life throws curveballs and this time around I’ve started to heal myself inside out.

I’m feeling so proud of myself..
I haven’t felt this in tune with myself since I studied for my Psychology and Sociology degree 20+ years ago and then going into the Beauty Industry in my mid 20’s. They say every 9 years we look to move forward in a different way with a new beginning. That’s most certainly true when I reflect back.

Now to make plans for the future and become the best version of myself to be able to help facilitate the best version of others.

This 100% describes what it’s like for me and I bet the majority of us with ADHD. And this had got to an overwhelming point where I couldn’t attend meetings, work events and socials with my friends. When I could, I felt that I wasn’t being myself due to the side effects of the medication I was taking, and it dulled my sparkle.

By taking the time and space to understand my brain, triggers, and being kinder to myself I beginning to unravel the real me. I now say no if I can’t or don’t want to do something and standing up for myself. It’s still a challenge living with ā€˜my brain’ but nearly 10 months into my Solution Focused Hypnotherapy training and huge shifts have been able to happen.

I totally get what it feels like to juggle the hormones, stresses and being a woman in your 40’s with a recent diagnosis of ADHD.

I’m currently still taking on a handful of new clients at a reduced rate and this will increase when I qualify at the end of June 😊 So I’d love to hear from you if you’d like to find out what it involves.

Welcome to my Business page, thank you for venturing into my world šŸŒ

25 years to unfold my true destiny, but never too late.. Having graduated with a Psychology with Sociology (Hons) Degree back in 2004 I knew I had a passion about how the human brain 🧠 worked and why we can malfunction.

It wasn’t until August last year (2024) that I discovered I had ADHD (combined type) through private assessments - I knew it was more than ā€˜just’ my diagnosis of being perimenopausal the past 5 years since the age of 38, and having clinical General Anxiety since my early 20’s - My whole world fell apart and opened up to a new chapter, simultaneously.

All those unanswered questions in my mind made more sense and I knew it wasn’t my ā€˜fault’ for feeling ā€˜different’ all these years since childhood. And the antidepressants didn’t work for a reason.. it was more than Anxiety..

Fast forward to September last year (2024) and trying ADHD Ritalin medication (and coming off it soon after due to severe side effects, worse than the ADHD) at the same time as starting my new training course in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy with CPHT, an epiphany occurred.. I CAN influence and control my mind by thinking, acting and interacting more positively and without meds leading the way (Medication CAN help many people - this is just my personal experience).

Ok, so there’s more to it than this! BUT for the first time in my life I felt grounded, optimistic that I wouldn’t be manipulated by others anymore, and I could control my ADHD symptoms.

It’s most definitely a work in progress but I’m now confident and strong enough to support other women like me, who need someone who will:

Listen to you without judgement
Believe in you without hesitation
Trust you to make your future you happy

No need to just Survive, but actually Thrive!
