Last night at Gorleston Pavilion was powerful.
So many men in the room. Exactly what had been hoped for. Because menopause is not just a women’s issue. It affects partners, families, workplaces and communities.
Exactly what Tina set out to do. Inclusive for all.
Scott’s openness and honesty touched everyone. I don’t think he quite realised the impact his authenticity has in a room like that.
Having Victoria and Kate there together was just brilliant. I have heard them both speak several times and I always take something new away. The depth of knowledge, the clarity, the lived experience, wow.
And Cath did what she does best. Important messages delivered in such a receivable way.
There were so many analogies that made it relatable and understandable. Cars - fast, vintage or feeling a bit clapped out. Minestrone soup. Scheduling. Raspberries and plums. Complex topics made human.
Some of the themes encouraged us to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. To be open. To be honest.
But above all, curiosity and communication remain key.
It was lovely to speak with so many people before the event, during the break and afterwards. Real conversations, real questions, real curiosity.
I am proud to be part of it and grateful that we have such a supportive selection of local partners creating spaces like this.
It was also great to talk about the impact menopause can have on heart health. Cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar can shift quietly during this stage of life, which is why awareness matters.
