February - The backwater of the year. - Yuk!

January, with all its New Year resolutions, 'Dry-January' and the 'New Year, New Me' mantras has now gone. February is often variable weather, credit card bills and a return to usual daily business grind. Spring still seems far away and that pressing need for sunshine, longer days and being able to go outside without being either soaked or hit by a windswept trampoline is yearned!

At this time, it is very easy to slip back into previous habits and this includes not putting self-care as a priority. With so many distractions and responsibilities it is easy for you to fall down the list of importance. Let's change that.

I regularly post the image of the 3 Barrels as it is a reminder to you to make a concerted choice to self-care and to share this principle to those around you too. Your environments and habits create who you are and what you do, so choose wisely! If everyone around you is feeling low or has stress and the blues, then that can project out to you, picking up second-hand negativity. It's a bit like passive smoking.

The Common Life barrel, particularly in February, is how the majority of the country feels. With the happenings and politics of the UK and globally, the doom and gloom MSM, etc, etc, it won't take much for you to shift to the Overloaded Life barrel. When that happens much is impacted and there is always a ripple effect towards others. With the increase of stress and toxins, your physical and mental health will suffer. The stress chemicals (particularly Cortisol) long-term in your body compromise your immune system and then you could potentially become ill. That's the last thing you need on top of all this and that is why it is vital that you become more self-aware and actively self-care.

What can be done?
The fact that you have already decided which barrel you have and are still reading this means you have taken an interest, so you've already started your recovery!

Look at what toxins you ingest; diet, chemicals, environmental, media, alcohol, etc and can you limit or remove these?
What stresses can you alter or remove? Is it a need to alter your environment such as at work, at home, relationships or financial?
Is there something that has always been a challenge or issue for you, such as a trauma, phobia or anxiety that you try to hide or 'work around' and doing so causes more stress?

Now is your chance to make a conscious decision to make the changes and choose to have the Ideal Life barrel. Yes, things happen in life and sometimes unexpectedly. However, by having plenty of space in your barrel for those challenges and moments, you remain in control, healthy and mentally resilient. By learning the most effective and fastest tools/methods you can be pro-active in your care.

Sometimes, you need assistance with all this and if that is the nature of your situation, then let's have a chat. You'll know by now that this is my specialty, having worked with both individuals and businesses to create the ideal environments, remove traumas and banish anxiety. I'm quick at it too, so no need for session after session after session. We could potentially have it sorted before the end of backwater February!

There's the option to have the longer term Life Empowerment Programme coaching with me, should you want to really excel.

I offer a free 20 mins Discovery call on Zoom or by phone to look at the best solution for you. What's not to love?

"Energy flows where the focus goes."

Now there's a double-edged sword!! That's great when all appears to be going well, however, when you are in a difficult time, it's all too easy to slide downhill.

Your brain looks for patterns, so if you are having a bad time, then your brain will look for negative things to reaffirm that feeling. If you aren't careful, that will become your mood and persona. Not good... not good at all.

With all that is happening and the slurry feed of the media, it can be easy to have your day be given a negative bias. Stop it! Stop it now!

If you look at things from a positive viewpoint, then guess what? Yep, you can create a more positive feeling and outlook. Waking up in the morning and saying to yourself that you are going to have a good day starts the process. we already discovered the brain looks for patterns to reaffirm this, so it will find the positives in the day. It may be hard work to begin with, depending on your situation however, like any skill, it gets better with practice.

Give it a go, and let me know how you get on. We can always have a chat if you need a few more techniques or some deeper work.

Let your energy flow in the right direction and have yourselves an awesome day. :)

Coping at work: No!

Nobody should endure stress and burnout at work. I certainly don't agree with the all too common statements that people need to learn how to 'cope'!

I interpret that as "Nothing has improved, so let's see if we can get through it". That's too vague for me and probably of no benefit to the staff or the company. The individual or team needs to be trained in recognising and being proactive in preventing stress as much as possible. Yes, some jobs or careers can contain high-stress levels, however, teaching them how to create and maintain their mental well-being is vital and changes the work environment for the better. It's the old phrase of "Prevention is better than cure".

Having worked in the Occupational Health sector, I have seen the huge quantity of employees (and management) who access the OH assistance of counselors and medical staff due to becoming overwhelmed in their job.

How many businesses have lost staff to excessive stress or distress? What has been the cost to the business for losing that talented individual or team? What becomes of those who endured the pressures and potential illness?

Teaching mental resilience is vital for your company to be strong, cohesive, and competitive. It's also about looking after fellow human beings and making them feel valued.

I work with companies to teach them the best pro-active resilience and mental well-being techniques. It can be done rapidly, on or off-site and provides a new skillset and mindset for employees, management and even CEOs who are experiencing burnout all too often.

Bring your team together, and ensure everyone understands mental well-being and resilience. Have them learn the rapid and effective skills they need and see the benefits. How would your home life improve if there was no distress at work?

It's a valuable investment in you, your staff and your business. Contact me if you want this for you and your company too.

People care - People matter.
