Erector Spinae💪🏻
The Erector Spinae runs along either side of your spine, from the lower back all the way up to the neck. This muscle group is essential for maintaining posture, stability, and movement in your spine.
The main role of the Erector Spinae is to extend the spine (helping you stand tall and straighten up), laterally flex the spine (bend to the side), and rotate the spine. These functions are vital for everything from sitting and standing to bending and twisting.
Tightness or injury in the Erector Spinae can lead to reduced mobility, chronic back pain, and discomfort in daily activities. Common issues include tension, spasms, muscle strain, especially in individuals who sit for long hours or engage in repetitive lifting.
Sports massage, and trigger point therapy can alleviate pain and target tight spots in the Erector Spinae. Regular massage can help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and restore flexibility to the back muscles.
Adding stretches and strengthening exercises alongside Sports Massage is also important as it strengthens the core and spin which will help maintain healthy Erector Spinae.
