We are delighted to be attending The Great British Farm Fest this weekend, where our teams are proudly promoting the importance of rural healthcare and supporting the farming community through our Farmer Friendly GP Practice Accreditation Survey. ππΎ
Representing our practices, today were ANP Joy Godding and PPG Chair Alistair Barton from Portcullis Surgery alongside Lesley Dodson, Reception Manager from Church Stretton Medical Practice. Together, they are speaking with members of the farming community about the unique challenges faced by those working in agriculture and the importance of accessible, understanding, and flexible healthcare services for rural populations.
Throughout the event, the team is encouraging visitors to complete our Farmer Friendly GP Practice Accreditation Survey, helping us continue to improve the support we provide to farmers, agricultural workers, and their families. The accreditation reflects our commitment to understanding the pressures faced within the farming industry, including long working hours, isolation, physical demands, and mental wellbeing challenges.
As part of todayβs activities, we are also offering free blood pressure and heart rate checks to festival attendees. These quick health checks are an important opportunity to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and encourage people to take a few moments out of their busy lives to focus on their wellbeing. Early detection and regular monitoring can make a significant difference in preventing serious health conditions.
It has been fantastic to meet so many people throughout the day, hear about their experiences, and discuss how healthcare services can better support rural communities. Events such as The Great British Farm Fest provide a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the people we serve and strengthen relationships across our local area.
If you are attending the festival, please do come and say hello to the team, complete the survey, and take advantage of the free health checks available at our stand. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and working together to support healthier farming communities.
