As an Inclusive Health Nurse at Keech, Mark brings care to those often without support - people experiencing homelessness across Luton and Bedfordshire.

In a town where 1 in 64 people are homeless, Mark ensures they’re not forgotten, offering dignity, healthcare, and hope.

💬 “It’s about meeting people where they are,” Mark says. His work proves hospice care is more than just a place, it’s a promise.

💜 Support Keech Hospice to help us reach more people like Mark does every day.

“Keech is my home from home.” 🩸

To manage his life-limiting condition, John receives regular blood transfusions. But instead of going to hospital for them, he comes to Keech. Here, he’s surrounded by warmth, care, and familiarity.

His story shows how hospice care goes beyond expectations.

💜 Help us wrap more families in care.

It’s Hospice Care Week 💜
At Keech, we believe hospice care is more than you think. It’s not just about medical support - it’s about wrapping the whole family in care, comfort, and dignity.

Today, we celebrate our play specialists, therapists, and volunteers - the heart of our holistic care.

🎨 “Art offers a powerful way to explore our emotions, empowering individuals to express what cannot always be said out loud. You don’t have to be good at art, it's about having an openness to try and finding yourself in the process.” Emma, Art Therapist 🎨

Day four: Newport to Freshwater Bay.

As a group, we walked the Tennyson Trail today. This covered a total distance of 240 miles - an impressive 608,000 steps!

Trekker Bernie reflected on the trek so far, "I've seen first hand the difference that Keech makes, supporting people at the most vulnerable time of their lives, and I feel privileged to help to raise vital funds. It’s hard to put into words the difference hospice care can make, something I have experienced first hand being a former nurse at Keech."

Day three: Godshill to Brighstone - the enormity of the challenge is taking hold.

Trekker Julie Russell wants to share her experience and why she's taking part…“Taking part in this challenge means the world to me, honouring Harry, my precious son, ten years on from his passing at Keech. We're raising funds to ensure other families receive the same compassionate support when they need it most.

This week has been a challenge, with a lot of tears, but laughter too, and the most breathtaking views. I’ve felt Harry with us every step of the way, watching over us and giving us the strength to just keep going.” 🩷

Our trekkers all have their own reasons for taking part, but each of them are helping us to make the difference for our patients and their families. We are so grateful to you all.

Day two: Sandown to Niton - Another beautiful day trekking from Sandown to Niton with the sunshine on our side. ☀️

Slightly tougher today with a cumulative elevation gain of 31,500ft (fun fact: Mt Everest is 29,000ft), across 220 miles and a massive total of 600,000 steps.

The group have been blown away by the ongoing support you are giving - thank you, it means so much🩷

They are doing an incredible job and we're so proud of them all for choosing to make the difference for Keech.

Day one: Ryde to Sandown - a very early start today to officially begin trekking. Our starting point was Ryde on the north of the island, walking east towards Brembridge.

Towards the end of the day, we climbed up Culver Down, to then head down to our finish point in Sandown.

Across the day the group have walked a very impressive 551,000 steps, covering a total of 250 miles. Some beautiful scenery too👏
