RCGP & NIHR Clinical Research Network Awards 2021 now open!

Since its inception in 2006, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has significantly increased the scale of clinical research in the NHS, particularly through the NIHR Clinical Research Network.

The enthusiastic engagement of NHS clinicians is an essential condition for sustaining and building on this success, particularly given the many competing demands on clinician time and resources.

This award scheme aims to recognise outstanding contributions of NHS clinicians to the conduct of NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio research studies.

RCGP Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine course

Dr Ayan Panja, GP at the Maltings Surgery in St Albans is running an RCGP accredited course in Lifestyle Medicine. This has been of interest to several local GPs over the past year. The term is a real buzzword in primary care and effective in dealing with a lot of non-communicable illness and mystery symptoms by getting to the root cause using a unique framework. Ayan and two other content experts (including Dr Rangan Chatterjee) host the course this time in Manchester to give primary care clinicians useable tools to apply from Monday morning.

The course is on Saturday May 18th 2019.
Benefits include:
- Reducing referrals
- Reducing prescribing costs
- Getting to the root cause of non-communicable symptoms
- 6 CPD points
Website and tickets:

I have been interested in the concept of lifestyle medicine for years. I have looked at this with patients and recommended it but never been quite sure if I am doing it right…..The course provided and easy framework to use as well as the evidence to back it all up. Brilliant and inspiring day.
