Judith had a great day today delivering an Emergency First Aid at Work course with the team from AEH Accountancy Ltd!

They say time flies when you’re having fun! 😃
Well that must be true because I just can’t believe it’s been a whole decade already, but I was presented with an award to mark 10 years service with Mini First Aid over the weekend! 💚
It’s an honour to be part of the Mini First Aid team alongside my lovely friends and colleagues, and it was especially nice to receive this award alongside Mini First Aid Birmingham, Mini First Aid Lancashire and Mini First Aid Manchester South who also received their 10 years service awards too (thanks also for the gorgeous bouquet Blumenkind!).
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Mini First Aid Warwickshire over the years and who continue to do so, and to all of our class attendees! I’m very passionate about teaching first aid and am fortunate to wake up every morning going to work happy and loving what I get to do every single day. We know first hand that our training really does help to equip people with the knowledge and skills to save lives, and while it can be hard work running a small business at times and things aren’t always straightforward, it’s hearing these stories that keeps us motivated and striving to keep on making a difference in our community! 💪😊 Thank you Kate for continuing to inspire all of us, and I’m very excited about continuing to grow and learn and succeed with Mini First Aid Warwickshire!

I come back from our Mini First Aid conference every year feeling inspired, refreshed and upskilled and it’s always a wonderful few days away…but this year it felt extra special, and it really is such a privilege to be able to say I do this as my job and get to spend time in the company of this fabulous bunch! 🥰 I also had the enormous pleasure of meeting our Dragon and investor, the lovely Sara Davies, who surprised us on Friday and it was most definitely a weekend highlight and my favourite conference to date! 👌🙌👏 Huge thanks to Kate & Matt and the team at head office for putting the whole thing together. I appreciate it’s a huge amount of work each year, but it certainly paid off and I found the training workshops really useful, as well as laughing lots with friends (and eating way too much!)- and my cup is now very much filled once again! 💚

What an absolute blast of a weekend I’ve just had at our annual Mini First Aid conference in Leeds! 😄 Made even more special by the fact that I finally got to meet our Dragon and investor Sara Davies who I am delighted to confirm is every bit as down to earth and lovely as she appears on tv! 🥰 What a privilege it was to have Sara sharing some of her top tips and advice for business with us, and indeed more importantly chatting about how she manages to balance work & family life too.
I’m feeling very inspired so watch this space, it’s going to be a fantastic year ahead for Mini First Aid Warwickshire! 🙌

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the meningitis outbreak in Kent. In light of the tragic news about two students having died from meningitis and a number of others being hospitalised, it’s a timely reminder of the importance of recognising the signs and symptoms. Awareness can save lives. 💚

Early symptoms can include:

• Fever
• Headache
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Stomach cramps
• Fever with cold hands and feet

Other common signs and symptoms include:

• Being drowsy or difficult to wake
• Confusion or irritability
• Severe muscle pain
• Pale, blotchy skin, spots or rash
• Severe headache
• Stiff neck
• Dislike of bright lights
• Convulsions or seizures

Many people associate meningitis with a rash, but not everyone with meningitis will develop one.

If a rash does appear, check the entire body. On white skin it may look like small red or brown pin-prick marks that can develop into larger red or purple blotches.

On black or brown skin, a rash can be harder to see, so check lighter areas such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, inside the eyelids or inside the mouth.

The tumbler (glass) test can sometimes help identify a rash that needs urgent medical attention. A non- blanching rash that doesn’t disappear under the pressure of a glass is a red flag and this person requires urgent medical attention.

🚨 But remember – don’t wait for a rash!

⚠️ Meningitis and Sepsis can make someone very unwell very quickly. Keep checking them and seek medical help urgently if you are concerned.

💚 It’s our annual conference next weekend in Leeds! 🙌 I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to get together with the whole Mini First Aid team and really enjoy catching up with everyone- and of course we’ll be completing training and hearing about the latest business updates along the way too! 😁
We’re really honoured to have been nominated in two categories this year- the Above & Beyond award, and People’s Choice- Trainer of the Year award. 💚
