Huge congrats to Melissa, Dr Ron and the team at The UK Sepsis Trust on this huge milestone, and being able to see the enormous impact over the course of the past 10 years that all of their continued hard work and efforts is making in raising awareness of Sepsis and helping to save many lives. You are all wonderful, and I’m very proud as a Mini First Aid franchisee that we have the privilege of spending time in your company and learning from you as part of our ongoing training and CPD, so that we can also help to raise awareness at all of our classes with parents, grandparents and caregivers too. 🥰💪

Full house today! Literally! 🤣 I had the privilege of running a private class for this gorgeous group comprising 12 adults and 6 babies! 🥰
Each of their little ones was adorable and really made me smile (I do miss this stage now mine are bigger!). I think there are a few budding paramedics amongst them as they were enjoyed showing us their CPR skills and they were very enthusiastic! 💚

As you can see, our private classes are very relaxed, and feeding, crying and changing are not a problem! There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and alleviate any concerns or anxieties you may have. You can get hands-on to practice your new found skills which will in turn give you confidence and peace of mind.

What an incredible story of bravery and quick thinking from 12 year old Zac when he stepped in and took control of the car in order to help his mum! 💪❤️
This gave me goosebumps as a mum given my own son is a similar age to Zac!
Zac managed to remain incredibly calm, called 999 and explained clearly to the call handler what had happened. 👏

Would your son or daughter know what to do if they were faced with an emergency where they had to call for help?
Why not empower them with this knowledge and these skills by booking them onto our Kids or Teens Class! 👌

At our classes, we discuss how best to react should they ever be faced with an emergency, the importance of staying safe, the various ways in which we can get help- and of course, we teach them the all important first aid skills too!

One of the resources we talk about is the what3words app which is absolutely fantastic and it can pinpoint your location very precisely. This app comes into its own when you’re out and about on a road like Zac was, or in a place where you don’t have an obvious reference or point of interest to refer to. It gives you a 3 word reference that you simply pass over to the emergency services, who then input it into their system to see exactly where you are and enabling them to get help to you as wuickly as possible.

This month, the Government launched a chickenpox vaccination programme in England, which aims to protect around half a million children each year.

GP practices will offer eligible children a combined vaccine for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) - the clinical term for chickenpox - as part of the routine infant vaccination schedule.

According to Government research, chickenpox in childhood results in an estimated £24 million in parental lost income and productivity every year in the UK, so it's hoped that the vaccine will mean children miss fewer days in nursery and school, so parents will not need to take time off work to care for them.
