Studies suggest that people who frequently share gym content on social media often seek validation, attention, or reassurance. Research from the University of Brunel found a link between frequent fitness posting and higher narcissistic traits, as likes and comments can temporarily boost self esteem.

While this behavior is not automatically a mental health issue, experts say it can reflect deeper emotional needs that go beyond motivation or healthy lifestyle goals.
