On 26 September, Adrian Willyson Brask, a much-valued member of the Norweigian Society for Sea Rescue (RS), made the ultimate sacrifice during a rescue operation.

His loss is felt deeply by the global search & rescue community, and we stand united with our colleagues at RS in mourning him. Adrian’s death is a sobering reminder of the inherent risks faced by those who dedicate their lives to saving others.

As a mark of respect to our friends at RS, our RNLI lifeboat station will lower our flag to half mast on Thursday (9 October), the day of Adrian’s funeral.

Our thoughts are with Adrian’s wife, his young daughter, his family, friends, colleagues, and all those affected by this tragedy.

Dungeness RNLI Christmas Craft Fair will be on Sunday 16th November 10-4 this year, with lots of goodies that will make perfect gifts for Christmas!

On Sunday 21 September, the volunteers of Dungeness RNLI, families, supporters and members of the community came together for the annual blessing of the lifeboat at Dungeness Lifeboat Station.

The service was held by volunteer crew and lifeboat chaplain, Father Jack Greenhalf, who gave a fantastic service in his yellow wellies!

Speeches were made by members of the lifeboat management committee, celebrating the work and achievements of our volunteers from boat crew and shore crew to shop volunteers and fundraisers.

This year, two long service medals were presented. Terry Ashford received his 20 year award and Peter Thomas received his 50 year award, fantastic and commendable achievements 🏅👏👏

We would like to thank all those that helped make the evening a success and to those who donated, raising more than £120.

This year it is on Sunday 21 September. Doors open at 5.30pm for 6.00pm start at RNLI Dungeness Station.
