🛟Dungeness Lifeboat Station are open to applications for volunteers in a number of roles, both sea-going and ashore. No maritime experience is required as comprehensive training will be given.

Alongside Littlestone Lifeboat Station, we are commemorating the 200th anniversary of an RNLI lifeboat being placed on our Romney Coastline with a monthly report of an historical rescue.

This month we remember a courageous rescue in atrocious conditions from a February tasking in the early 1970s.

What a weekend it’s been for our volunteers at RNLI Dungeness Lifeboat Station!

It started off on Thursday and Friday with a large scale film production using our car park for their vehicles and their refreshment facilities. Of course, our full time Coxswain and Senior Station Technician managed to find the coffee! 😀 ☕️

Then Friday night it was the Annual Sloe Gin Competition at The Pilot Inn, where Coxswain Jon Morgan was one of 4 judges chosen to test all 19 samples to determine a winner! The event raised £500 for our station and as always, we would like to thank The Pilot Inn for their longstanding and loyal support ⚓️🍷

And then Saturday, was our annual car wash which saw our crew pull on their yellow kit for a slightly different purpose than usual! Lots of cars washed and made clean, lots of cake consumed and again, a huge thank you to The Pilot Inn for donating chips to keep our crew energised throughout the day!

It was a fantastic day, where our supporters were treated to not only a clean car, but some interesting dance moves from our volunteers! Total raised on the day was £1125.

A huge thank you to all our supporters and all that were involved in making the weekend such a great success! 👏👏👏

Our crew can have a rest day now, unless of course the pager sounds 😀 📟
