Lydiate Community Care Farm with Social Wellbeing CIC Growing together! With nature in mind! πŸ’š

This footage was taken last week, the day after the hens were moved. It's a bit long, more than three minutes.
I will still take care of them, although I've been without a car which means I can't get to them. They are still being looked after but probably not spoilt. πŸ’š

For the first time, I was not greeted by the hens on my arrival today! 😒 The reason why is because they've moved to pastures new! Well, over the way actually, to a neighbours land.
There they have joined some posh birds, who are non too pleased at this invasion. Hopefully, they'll all get on nicely together, before too long.

Be happy in your new home, Betty, Elsie, Nancy, Daphne, Daisy and Hettie! X

My dream of creating a happy place, has unfortunately not been successful.
I'm now torn on what I should do with the land!
I moved off in February and asked someone who needed somewhere to live look after the hens and maintain the land, in exchange for free accommodation. This arrangement didn't go as I had expected..... so, my girls are moving to pastures new too. 😞

Thank you to everyone who has been following our journey.

Unfortunately, the care farm is no longer operating as a community project. I gave up the fight to stay. I would have loved it to serve myself and others. Unfortunately, the council said No!
I no longer reside there and I am undecided whether to keep the land or let it go.
Its been hard going at times but I'll take with me memories that I will cherish.
Thank you for all your support!

My very huge, hansom Cockeral, Gregory Peck has passed away.
He did a fantastic job of looking after the ladies. I'm really sad about it. πŸ˜”
He died in suspicious circumstances.

Rest in peace, my big man. X

Sadly, he didn't make it. Rest in peace, Paul...πŸ™

These two were living in atrocious conditions. They had no food, water or clean bedding. They were ankle deep in mud. They were kept in a dog crate with nowhere to roost.
I just had to rescue them. I didn't realise that one was a cockeral. I introduced them to my flock but neither were accepted. I had hoped that they would settle and live happily ever after. Unfortunately, this is not the case. They have been alienated from the original flock and Gregory, my very large, black cockeral has been attacking Paul, the white one.
Can anyone take Paul and Pat and give them the care they deserve?
Cockerals do look after their girls but don't like other males anywhere near.
Please get in touch if you can help.
Thank you πŸ’š
